In reality you don't pay federal taxes. The majority of the hardcore southern states get more from the fed than they pay in. So in economic sense, all southern states except Texas and Florida are considered federal welfare states. So in reality all the money you're paying in comes right back to your state government and they spend it, plus much more. Mississippi, Alabama, West Virginia, Virginia get almost twice as much as they pay into the fed.

In texas you get a much fuller education on history and teachers and professors encourage you to go outside school and read and hint that what your'e learning isn't the whole truth. The feds attach strings to the money and demands for reception of said money. This is why our governor refuses to take the stimulus money, it's nothing more than the feds trying to control the states through handouts. Like parents or slave masters, a very fitting word for them.

Our income tax doesn't run the federation, it pays interest to the privately owned Federal Reserve for printing our fiat currency. There is no coincidence that the Federal Reserve and Income tax were both passed in 1913.

Patrick Henry, Samuel Adams, George Mason, and of course Thomas Jefferson all were advocates for liberty above all else but were all stricken from importance from all the history books in one way or another and credit was bestowed on those less worthy. Now they're talking about a higher national gas tax to finance road construction and maintenance. Apparently there's "a lack of Federal funds available" for it. The Red Cross is still 80 million dollars short and desperately needs funding. No money for that though. Yet, they can afford to send literal BILLIONS every year to Israel to finance more of their atrocities that only add to instability in the region.

Especially where land is concerned; I've read a few news articles about this "eminent domain" law in the past, one of which ended in a shootout here in SC because the landowners refused to sell.
