heh, Marvin's a beast with nearly EVERY long-range move in the game, fast or slow. Every time you get close, you get gun'd in the face.

Popeye is my favorite anti-Marvin. he has an answer for almost all of Marvin's moves. You use that underground uppercut to get passed all of those projectiles and use the anchor on those aliens that he sends after you.
