The choice of Alice today in hindsight was a red herring.She was so far above the others that even host favortism,body image sensitivity,and behind the scenes politics could not stop her.As a result she gave the show a credibility it did not deserve.She opened the door to acceptance with NY and London agents ready to see top 3 or 4 instead of a lesser fashion city.With the shows true colors showing and producing two straight nearly unbookable winners, reality has set in.

i agree with yola too. my idea of a next top model is someone who is down to earth and can act as a role model to some of the younger girls, someone they can relate to. I think Alice totally got through a lot of the competition with her looks and she probably didn't even need AuNTM to help get her career launched. I feel like someone with less of the "look" could've benefited more from the competition than her.

What you're basically saying is that someone extremely high fashion/supermodel material like Alice shouldn't have entered the competition to let girls with less potential win? Sorry, that doesn't make sense. If there's an opportunity, you take it. And yes, while Alice could have had an equally successful career without AusNTM, she wouldn't have had nearly as much publicity. AusNTM landed her on the cover of Aus VOGUE, how long would it have taken a regular model to accomplish that?

Agree 100% with Yola87. This whole series was pointless when Alice was going to win from the very start. She was bland, boring, and only had one "look," the "high fashion" "vogue editorial." It's a great look, but she's incapable of anything else. Very disappointing.

Why did they even have a competition? As soon as they found Alice the competition should have been over. She could have been a lifeless corpse (not far from the truth) and she still would have one just because of her "look."

Steph brought so much more to the table and I see her personality as an awesome representation of Australia. Alice was bland.

Alice is beautiful but it is a cold kind of beauty; not the type that would make me want to buy clothes.

I agree too! The first day she walked onto the show, I could tell they were going to love her, no matter what kind of effort she put in or how much she really wanted it. As Berrysweety77 wrote - she definitely did not need the show to launch her career. And Steph was so much more versatile! The people on AuNTM are the ones who decided to lower the age minimum to 16, and they totally used that as an excuse to hold against her.

I find it hilarious on the faces of those few judges who voted for steph, they looked fairly infuriated.

because even when steph offered her soul to the competition. it still didn't make her at lest 3 inches taller, 10 pounds thinner especially on the bum part and have a chiseled face.

they are looking for 'top model' not 'most beautiful girl'. who fits the bill best wins. unfortunately, for the other girls they had to compete with alice who's obviously head and shoulders above any of them.

a good personality makes no top model. models need not be bubbly.
