  • is that an inspiron 1150

  • I thought this was smashing pumpkins at first

  • With or without youuuuuuuu ♪

  • nice mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • whats in the bottle?

  • i always place a towel or large cloth on the table so you dont make scuff marks on the back of the screen

  • inweaknessbe, whats the best brand of isopropyl is better and what percentage, can it be apply to desktop heatsink and processor! pls. reply!

  • ur not a geek ur a fuckin loser

  • nice music.. :)

  • nice music.. :)

  • I had an Inspiron 1150 as I recall, like the D600 series, sorta. And I took that one apart, even have spare parts from an extra mobo I had to replace in that one.

  • so speed, did you put some thermal paste over the cpu ?

  • @MehdenMax I don't have to on all my lappys, the older they are, for sure, there's less heat to worry about.

  • Lol you put it all together... "SHIT I FORGOT A PIECE"

  • @noeezyfluff That's my worry with the Vaio I have and waited for a new motherboard

  • If your computer is sick, slow or just not acting "normal" you *NEED* to go to my profile for a SAFE and FREE way to solve this problem.

  • How do today's powerful chips like the Intel i-series, or the AMD Phenom II series survive in such a compact, small environment such as a notebook computer? Don't many of these chips need large heatsinks, and large physical cooling areas, such as are found in large desktop CPU cases? Thanks in advance.

  • @AudiophileTubes They run on the new Chip sizes (45nm) tech, so that means efficiency allows lower voltage, and in turn, lower heat. If you look at my K23 Sony That one uses a desktop style Pentium 4 with mucho heat. As does the Toshiba Sat A series.

  • the best

  • "I do this every few months to keep it running well." ?

    That's really wasting time.

OK clean your laptop from dust and stuff, but applying new thermal paste every few months is a waste of time. Thermal paste should hold fine for the long run. At least a year...

    BTW thanks for showing :p

  • @Syboltleffert If your CPU is controlled for duration of use, DO NOT MESS with it, simple as that, only worry over paste if there is critical temp problems

  • @MetallicBill

Also.. If you wish to get a lower idle temp. or/and max load temp.. If you know how to do it, it's not messing with it.. Agree?

  • @Syboltleffert Just need some fan and temp monitoring software, I noramlly don't bother seeking them out, but for a Sony Vaio, a damn good idea for protection. Dell has one that works on other Dells, I'm not sure DELL offers it at all, but I found it on TechSpot

  • i like you your tool. and i like your video. very very thanks to upload..what is price of your tools. plz reply me

  • very nice very nice ;)

wot was that thing u put on the fan? that u needed to cover ur finger with a plastic glue? :O and why?

  • @surfdudezuri protects and cleans it ?

  • that.. doesn't really answer the question.. be a bit more detail if you know why bro.. ;)

  • I'm sorry for my ignorancy, but what's the fluid from the white bottle?

  • @Sauber9 Probably Isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Works good to remove thermal paste from heatsink and processor

  • @tomgilks Thanks for the answer! And another thing: this thermal paste, if we don't use it, I mean, if we only clean and remove all the old t. paste and assemble the lappy again, does it have any risk of failing, breaking? It's because I'm thinking about cleaning my laptop by myself, but I still don't have this isopropyl and neither the t. paste.

  • My advice would be to NOT remove the heatsink from the processor unless you are having problems with overheating. The thermal paste is quite important because it fills in the microscopic grooves between the CPU and heatsink. Assembly without thermal paste can cause much higher temperatures. Isopropyl alcohol is available in any drug store. It is also called rubbing alcohol. I recommend using the 99% concentrated stuff. Blow dust from your heatsink/fan with canned air.

  • Lol it doesn't destroy your pc if you know what your doing and if your scare just open it up and use compress air and ull be fine

  • I enjoyed the video. I learned a thing or two on how to open up the laptop with this video. I was looking for this "how to" video for a while now. You see, I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop with a broken head phone input. I tried to open it but with no success. After seeing this video, I'm confident I can open the laptop with ease. Thank you.

  • hmmm , i did the same after i bought my first pc , re install and clean everything specially the heat sink , and the chip set colling sink ... of course instead of using thermo or that silver stuff , i`ve used regular alloy foil up side down and it works well never get`s warm again etc , never will be gone wrong .... :)))

  • it doesnt destroy ur computer aslong as you know what ur doing

  • Does everything have to have a music bed? Why the lame emo music?

  • I vacuum the vents! HAHA!

  • That could destroy your computer

  • that , is very bad thing to do , if you don`t how to do this , just take it to any mechanic shop they do it for you , for about 20 usd or even less ...

  • @etower333c DO NOT do that! Static is created with a vacuum and will short out your components.

  • who is the song by?

  • train

  • Kent - 747

  • most people show long shots of the work being done, that's not gona teach anything, you got to get them closer to the action

check out my repair channel for close and personal

  • I've done this with desktops but never laptops before. I have to sometime though, I think my laptop is heating BAD. I need to clean the dust out but I'm scared to death.

  • Lol man same here, when i opened 1st part where HDD and other things are i was all sweat and my hands was shaking lol.I like my laptop lol

  • what kind of liquid is that?

  • nice vid!

  • what liquid is he using?

  • Laptops are geberally a pian in the ass to take completely apart and clean, desktops are so much simpler and up front

  • Haha first time I did this I forgot to hook up the cpu fan. Had to take it all apart and re-attach it. I was like OOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGG.

  • so fresh so clean :D the disassembling is quite easy, the hard part is assembling

  • Great video!!! thanks very much!! really!! for doing it!, I have a dell inspiron 1525 and I'm going to take apart the palmrest because it have a few scratches so I'm ordering a new palmrest, this is really helpful, so....to take apart the palmrest I have to take apart also the screen?

  • now i know how to take my dell apart hahaha

  • i am always too scared to mess around with my pc's.

  • thats realy cool, i only take my laptop apart if something is broken or realy needs a fix

  • Good video, I like how you cleaned the heat sink so good, ;-)

  • is it safe to use lighter fluid to clean some part of the laptop?

  • i have an hp pavilion dv6700 and my doesnt look that easy but is more complecated then that, can someone post a vid of opening up an hp it will really help me my cpu is slow and i want to upgrade. thanks

    by

    Kent

  • nice video ..

can i know the track name pls.

    thanx.

  • thx man

  • that's an old bitch XD

  • I am in the process of doing the same to mine. What sololution do you use to clean the components? Is that just an alcohol solution.

  • making love to his laptop...rofl

  • hey you are good at it can you tell me whats song is what you put on you video

  • the fan on my inspiron 1526 is making a loud noise would it be a good idea to open it and see if anything is wrong?

  • Get some cans of pressurized air, also you can open the back to fan and clean it.

And get a desk stand/cooler fans that might help.

  • do you know the name of the song?

    pls!

  • thanks :p helped me a lot :)

  • Try this with a Gateway. It ain't happening. Its impossible to get into a gateway computer. Even after you've taken out every single screw the computer has.

  • hahah u guys are all noobs

  • WOW ! YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR STUFF !

  • i have a dell inspiron e1405.... the mouse button is stuck and i wanna open up the computer to try to fix it.... any advise?

  • Dell has a bad rep in general for the material they use. Your little hammer that "clicks" may be gone. You usually cant replace those you may have to send it back it its under warrenty.

  • I do this every few weeks. i like fooling around with is os and hardware lol

  • inweaknessbe, what the title of d song and n d performer?

  • there is no function of cleaning a processor, if there's coming dust over your processor then there's something wrong with your pc..

    heatsink btw is smart

  • actually i think he put thermal compound on the processor, this helps the heat flow of the processor, for better cooling,

  • I'm bored working as IT employee in company.

I would like to have my own notebook repair shop. Thanks you . you're my idol

  • what certs do u have?

  • wow thank you you helped me fix mine you saved me like $1000

  • u are drunk

  • wow, nice job, I think you've noticed all of the things that should have tipped you off to the fact that this ISN'T A TUTORIAL

  • GD253 your an idiot

  • @inweaknessbe THIS IS TUTORIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL !!!!!!!

  • You should be smart enough to know what he's doing. If you're not, study and practice on a desktop. Should take only a week to figure out.

  • @gd253 moron lol

  • awsome video.

I would like to try the samething on my HP dv8000 but are afraid of doing something wrong and breaking it. Got any tips?

  • If you're not confident about it, don't do it, have it professionally done. If you want to try anyway, download the laptop's repair manual online, that will help. The first time you take it apart, be careful and keep track of what screws go where. Take notes.

  • yeah, good advise, the hardest thing about taking apart a laptop is keeping track of where the right screws go.

  • @admare I have a dv 6000 :p

  • awesome video

  • i went to my local highschool and the take apart a pc and put it back to gether in 19mins

  • you are a master!!!

  • hi, is thare any easyer way to get to the laptops heatsink then to tack the hole laptop apart?

cuz my heatsink stop working in my laptop.

  • laptops are a right wanker to take apart and put back together ! how may "spare" parts did you have left over haha last time i did on i had abut 15 screws left over !!

  • Good work man. I took of my keyboard once from an Asus laptop, in order to clean it and when i turn that on again the keyboard was not working at all!

  • KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK//// VICTORPCMAN

  • great work. the only reason i would open a laptop would to be if i had to rig up a power cube to attach to the motherboard to plug the adapter into... well not now i have a new one but still, great

  • Good work!

  • Fascinating my friend. What you're doing is a perfect example of how to save the world. Dispel Ignorance. Dispel Fear. Through Education and Support and Love (that last part is something I believe firmly in, not saying you loving was evident in the video, but making it shows love i think).

  • Tech shops would charge some change for that. Well done. To save time and effort, opening up and blowing out dust is enough. For XP, you may want to upgrade to 1GB of memory if the board allows.

  • what kind of water did you use??

  • song - 747 by swedish band Kent

    "water" is isopropyl alcohol

  • Hey, great work! Just wanted to know the technical name for all the relavant solutions you used in your cleaning, noatably the solution that is applied on processor. TY.

  • i like the song, who is that

  • what are the specs for that laptop ?

  • 3.0 pentium 4 processor 512 ram 80gig HD 128mb geforce video card

    it's approaching 3 years old

  • i do the same to ma laptop and pc every few mounths to get rid of dust :), but do u ever worrie incase u do something wrong, even tho uve done it a million times, when u hit that power button and the light comes on is a good feeling lol

  • I think I've got a lot of dust in my laptop (sonyvaio )

Is it normal that too much dust (inside speedfan)decreases cpu performance ?

  • yes, hot temperatures around the CPU and heatsink mean slower CPU performance

  • what song? can someone tell me? :) nice video.i will do the same on my laptop.

  • What is the fluid you are cleaning with? isopropyl?

    Great video :)

  • yes, isopropyl, the higher percentage the better

  • Great video but you spread the thermal paste with your finger and on the heatsink thats not the right way XD!

  • If you notice, I put a plastic bag over my finger before I spread it- a thin layer on the heatsink, then a drop on the processor die itself

  • whats that stuff that you squeezed out in that tube

  • That is thermal paste, important for keeping a CPU cool

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

ITS A FIRE HAZARD...PUT IT AWAY!!!!

You don't win the geek award.

  • Thats heeeell good! Ive never taken a laptop apart b4 =\

  • why did you try this?

  • laptops usually need cleaning after dust accumulates

  • Good thinking, my laptop gets dust and other crap stuck near the heatsink.

  • cccooolll

  • dannng...

  • how long does this take? :o

  • It took about 40 or so minutes to take it apart and put it back together

  • And here I thought laptops pretty much went obsolete before they got dirty.
