The Nokia N95 and N95 8GB are exellent phones but they old phones at the same time that was the 2006 N95 and the N95 8GB is 2007..They use Maps 2.0 were as the new models today use maps 3.0 and the navigation is free were as the navigation on the N95,N95 8GB,N96 16GB you have to buy navigation other than that they are great phones best media phone ever...

The video is a bit stupid, but I think the phone is nice. I have an older model, Nokia Navigator 6110. I use it and GPS feature for geocaching, navigation etc and it works pretty well. I use internet, camera and other features too. I have installed some really nice freeware software too. I love it! But reading the manual is recommended (very many functions and a bit difficult menu structure). It wasn't that expensive thinking how many things you can use it for.

But my only BIG problem is, my carrying case is with magnet, and what happen is when I touch the screen withe the magnet or the right hand side of the phone he unlock by it self and lock after 1 sec i tried this with different case with magnet and is the same. Can't do anything with the GPS. It's a hardware so you can't download and install it. but you can install Nokia maps software in almost any nokia phone. You can buy a GPS bluetooth device for GPS function. or, there's a software or two out there that can locate your position base on your proximity to the cellular tower. but it's very innaccurate. i've use it and it has a CEP of hundreds of meters.

i think there is just n95 and the n95(8GB)... there's also the n96 which is packed with "more" features and such... and the n85 is about the same (meaning all combined) but a lil less features and more battery life... it depends on what you want...

after having the n95 for 2 weeks, i can safely say, it is a piece of crap. first of all symbian is terrible. it is a really weird operating system that requires certificates when you install things, so that makes things extremely difficult to install. secondly, this whole n95 gps is a scam. when you try to find directions to a place, it says no gps position. when you click on navigate, it tries to get you to buy services from nokia. my understanding is, they want you to sign up for their service

as it goes is windows mobile the best operating system to go with on pda phones? SOme people don't like the idea of having to turn on a windows mobile device to make a phone call and use a touch screen instead of keys for dialing. Are devices like the htc touch diamond the way to go as some people prefer smaller phones but the htc has larger screen.
