Hi Alan,he was one of the top crooners in the UK back then in the early 50's,but got swept aside by the Rock 'n Roll revolution from 1956 onwards,as did many others !
Yes, an island in the sun would be very nice just now Alan,it's cold, dark and damp outside today, yuk ! lol
Many thanks for the tropical thumbs Alan, cheeers,,,Mick :))
Yes Maggan, there is a place called Christmas Island, off the Western coast of Australia and it does look like a paradise isle, there are only 1400 people living there !
@MusiqueMaestro1 OK, thanks! On my island out in the archipelago only 40 families are living....ha-ha, but I believe it´s not as warm there now as on Christmas Island./Maggan
Right about now, a tropical climate would appeal to me very much. What a nice song & might I add a great video. I was looking for you & Rey on the beach. :)
A wonderful rendition of this fun Christmas song! It's a nice complement to the Andrews Sisters rendition, very similar in it's style. Of course, the video certainly helped enghance the experience, lol! All the stars and thumbs up!
Hiya Rey,yes, the Andrews Sisters is much the best recording of this song, but this version from Dickie Valentine seems to have been overlooked for many years,so I thought it was time to give it some airplay ! lol
I wasn't sure what to put in the video when the backing singers had their turn,I thought the girls filled in quite well though !
Very many thanks for the thumbs up & all the stars Rey,I'm happy you enjoyed it all,,,,,Mick :))
A wonderful song Mick, I do a version of this song myself. A warm tropical Christmas sounds very nice actually (lol)! A terrific song and video, I enjoyed this little getaway to Christmas Island very much! Aloha! ... FrAnK
Hiya FrAnK,or should that be Aloha, lol. Yes,a warm sunny isle would be very nice just now,it's typical British weather here, really dull and cloudy, cool and damp !
I'm pleased that you enjoyed this old song from Dickie Valentine,he was very big here in the 50's,I did go and see him live in 1956,he was an excellent "crooner",but got pushed aside by the birth of Rock 'n Roll !
Hiya Jan,glad you like this old Christmas song from Dickie,it's one that's been forgotten by most people, his "Christmas Alphabet" is very well known though !
Thanks very much for watching Jan,I've thanked Em for sending it as well, that was good of him !
Have a great week yourself, stay out of the rain if you can !
