Please note that my book Keynes Hayek: The Clash That Shaped Modern Economics is published by W.W.Norton in October.
Professor John B.Taylor says that: “Nicholas Wapshott brings the Keynes-Hayek fight of the 20th century back to life, making the clash both entertaining and highly relevant for understanding economic crises of the 21st century.”

Sound & visual quality has really degraded from Part 1. But the content is still so good I'm putting up with it. Can't find this anywhere else on YouTube & Hayek is a Nobel Prizewinning genius. The modern intelligentsia has pushed Hayek to the margins because he undermines their intellectual herd romance with collectivism & statism. One must search long & hard to find economics faculties anywhere that still teach Classical Liberal economics like the Austrian School - or even the Monetarists.
@Argon09b You wrote "I'm shocked that I haven't heard of Hayek until recently. Glad I did." Welcome to the world of Classical Liberalism!! (NB: modern "liberalism" & "liberal" in American English means statist & collectivist - the OPPOSITE of the classical meaning of the term.) As you are new to Hayek, the best book to start with would be "The Road to Serfdom". Then try Friedman's "Free to Choose". Hayek is Austrian School. Friedman is Monetarist. Both different classical liberals. Enjoy!
Thanks for posting this easy intro to Hayek's bio and ideas. Wish the blurry visual and muddy audio didn't detract from the overall positives of the video.
I know how you feel. I took economics in college in the early 80's and Hayek wasn't mentioned. I Learned about him several years ago and he says exactly what I have learned from classical education I put my self thru since the end of college. The classical liberals were on to individualism, including Adam Smith, and they steered away from statist govts. All of the enlightenment was pro liberty. Hayek inmo is just another enligthenment philosopher from a long line of them. It's a continuum.
