    I don't think I'll ever get that many. But 14 or 15 reps sometime soon would be nice. After all, I'm a powerlifter, not a fitness athlete, and I've gained a couple of kg's since this video, so I don't believe I've made a lot of progress in pull-ups. :-(

  • I don't think that is a narrow grip at all, this is how pull ups should be done! Your pull ups have great technique and deserve more respect than many videos that post more pull ups with worse form.

  • There muscle mass is also typically lower, therefore the pull-ups that a female does are just as hard as the ones that a male does.

  • Of course I don't touch the ground. That would be cheating. ;-) I stand on a bench in the beginning to be able to reach the bar, but of course I don't touch it in between lifts. You can see how far I have to reach for the bar in the beginning and that I bend my legs slightly during the lifts = physically impossible to be touching either the bench or the ground. :-)

  • This grip must be uncomfortable, it's not wide grip and not shoulder width either, the angle is also too stressful for the elbow joint, nice experiment but nobody should workout regularly with this grip. Having said that, 12reps with full ROM is very good for a girl at 63kg, what's your sport?

  • You're probably right. I usually do pull-ups with a wider grip, but wanted to try narrow grip pull-ups. After seeing the video, I realized that my grip wasn't as narrow as I thought, so the last four sets of the day I did with a grip at about shoulder width. And thank you! I compete in powerlifting (i.e. squat, benchpress, deadlift).

  • My best competition lifts are 140 kg squat, 80 kg benchpress and 160 kg deadlift. Videos of the benchpress and the deadlift are posted, but unfortunately, I don't have my 140 kg squat on film.

  • You should try to add one a month till December. Occasionally do high reps of pulldowns or assisted chins. Remember to do more chins, your muscles don't have to be stronger than they are now, just have more endurance! Nice job
