Well, I don't blame you for not buyin the Book of Mormon- I wouldn't either. That book is not the Holy Bible, however. The Bible itself does not "save your soul", nor does any other book for that matter. Eternal salvation can only be acheived through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and believing that he came to this earth to die and pay for your sins past, present and future. The easy part is accepting Christ into your heart. The difficult part is living every day of your life for Him.

However, there are many major world events that have happened in the last decade+ that relate to words found in only ONE book written in all of history, and that is the Bible. I dont know how big of a reader of books you are, but your "good case" comment reminds me of a book i would like to recommend to you. It's called "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. It's a very good read

Thanks, but I've actually already read it. I found ultimately weak. It's been some time, but I remember Strobel basically saying you have to agree that Jesus (Yeshua) was either the real deal or a liar or lunatic. In fact I tend to disagree with all three of those options. It's difficult to know much about him, but I have very little "faith" in the gospels which are inconsistent and full of fantasy. I recommend you download from iTunes Thomas Sheehan's lectures on the historical Jesus.

I can understand your point on this. How does a person know for certain something is true when everyone thinks their way is truth? I struggled with this question once for over a year. Then I just started praying "God what is your truth and please help me to believe in your truth and not a lie." God will always respond to a sincere prayer. I think for the most part they have good hearts, but I feel they are misguided. I base this on what I have experienced, seen, and felt for myself through Christ. When people talk about having a personal relationship with Jesus, it's just that, personal between you and Him. I asked God for answers and He gave them to me. That's why I believe, He showed me.

I ran out of text, but we should let the text speak to us, "What were the issues in Ezekiel, which makes the book highly apocalyptic, and should we learn from the text itself?" The problem is that we have difficulty seeing what the issues were, so we choose the easy way out and simply think it fits neatly into our present society. Anyways, simply a few thoughts. We need to understand the historical significance of Old Testament books such as Ezekiel and not simply make it fit into our worldview. The book is specifically concerned with Israel's coming Babylonian Exile, therefore making the jump from its historical context to today can be dangerous. Ezekiel does not mention Russia or Iran. We also need to be followers of Jesus, not followers of Judeo-Christian principles, which are different. Beck: "Jesus if you're watching, you can wait!" Really?
