yeah, this is also my problem. The book leather retailers on the internet seem to only want you to be able to buy a piece of leather that is all ready to throw a signature in, but I'm trying to get a piece for a girdle book and now it appears it's just not going to happen.

There are a couple sellers that sell bookbinding leather on eBay.

Also check out talasonline and the the dot come at the end.  Talas is an excellent source for bookbinding supplies.
