Mofaz said in the mid 90s that the Palestinians will attack Israel and the peace process will fail. All the secret orgs said he was wrong, but of course we know now he was right. He spent his years as chief of staff reinforcing Israeli positions in west bank. When intifada broke out, had it not been for the reinforcement, all would've been destroyed by mortars etc. Instead they all held out and many soldiers were not killed in the first months of the intifada... so he has respect for that.
