this trick works with the Ipod nano just hold the menu button as well as the selct you will get a disc menu then just repeat and it should boot up

I wish i knew about this before i smashed my ipod to pieces with a hammer, my ipod over a period of approx 3 years :

1 - would not synch with my p.c

2 - ipod screen would freeze and stay on untill battery ran out

3- would not transfer my tracks from itunes to ipod

4- itunes would tell me a track could not be located even though it was on my p.c

in the end i just had enough of it and ended up smashing it with a hammer, felt great for a whole 10seconds untill i realized what i just did :(

1 ) HOld the Power button off for 3 seconds

2) Keep HOlding the Power Button AND Hold the HOme button for 10 seconds

3) Keep HOlding Home button and Release Power for 13 seconds.

If this doesnt work. Keep trying it! eventually it will work. it took me 1 hour to use my itouch again :-)

Mine still won't reset. I got some moisture in it, so that may be why. I put it in a sealed plastic bag for a few days, opened it up then the power came back on. There's a message that says, " Connect to your computer, use itunes restore" but when I do that it doesn't work.
