@chalkeygas93 There's a cloud of mystery over his death. He was getting clean, overcoming a heroin addiction, and was getting his life together. His death came as a total shock, and the coroner's investigation was inconclusive. So no one knows what sent him over the edge.

@PinkDevilFish Everyone is welcomed to write stuff to or about Elliott on that wall. If you saw what most people wrote, it wasn't stupid gang graffiti, it was either lyrics to his songs or messages of "I miss you, Elliott."

Now it is covered in "stuipid gang grafiti" and is unrecognizable as the tribute wall except at the very top. As I said I was at the wall a few weeks ago and someone tagged it. I obviously wasn't referring to the messages in this video. Maybe you should drive over there and see for your self but it is now filthy and dirty and covered in nasty tags. So "why cant we have nice things?"

I can listen to every Elliott Smith song I have now without crying. In fact, as time has gone on I can even rock out to them or sing along with a smile on my face. Elliott would have wanted us to enjoy his songs and celebrate his life rather than be reminded of his death and feel sad...

But I don't think I will ever be able to listen to this without getting choked up.
