Perphaps I'm missing something. President Obama has stated that the US tax payer will give over $1 billion in food aid to Jordan and cut debts owed to the US from Egypt equalling over $1 billion at a time when the US debt is near $14 1/4 trillion dollars. It is just me or does this not seem fiscially sound or a good deal for the US.

@bloodyhawk989 first of all food is not send for free its a trade and egypt is paying the highest in international prices for wheat......and the aid is part of the peace treaty its not a gift

You REALLY don't know squat.
Not only is food often provided for free, but farmers are often paid to NOT grow crops, as well as, give away food, to ensure the SHORTAGE of food domestically, in order to artificially keep the price of food up, whereby the consumer MUSTS pay more for food, so as to profit the food stores, the food providers / distributers, and the food growers (i.e, the big farm industry).
That is common practice in the US.
