I started doing this last year too - I had a question though: what does buffing out the creases in the middle do? I can see how doing so along the edge would close the gaps - I'm just interested in your hair-drying method and what it does :D Thanks Berz!
no offense , but this video didn't tell me shit. how about a video that shows what brand your using, how to seal the plastic to window, and any tips that you can share , IE knowledge gained over years of doing this. On a positive: the logo page w/ 'Beerz' is badass...
@CaptainBerz I'm not sure if I can install any...I have drywall surrounding the window frame area...only place I could attach the plastic would be on the drywall which the directions say not to do...and I have blinds in the way so I'm screwed!
i remember doing that in south dakota. now i live in sunny arizona. saran wrap for the windows. thats how i think of it. also if youre installing them when its cold you can highjack the ole hairdrier for some quick heat.
Wish I could... This place kinda sucks. Can't do nothin' without permission and is full of so many holes, what's the point? Hell, a mole just chewed through my floor last week LOL

Thanks. I was planning on going to Loew's to get a kit but I'll take your advice and just go to Walmart. Loew's is kinda expensive anyway.

I've done this a lot on my house in the north part of Indiana that was built about 1890. It makes a huge difference.

@HighDefDownLow I said what brand...lol
CaptainBerz 3 months ago
Are you supposed to put it over blinds? Ive seen them all do it over glass lol
infringinator 4 months ago
@infringinator However keep the air out. The blinds are in the window cavity, so as long as it does not touch the plastic it is fine..

@BTeamHooligan Anytime, You will be surprised how much air it keeps out if your windows leak any air...
CaptainBerz 1 year ago
@CaptainBerz Yeah we've got the original storm windows from '35, leak like a sieve. Want to change out when we get the coin.

My landlord put in double pain windows in all but the front window, which is 5'x6'. Wonder if I could d that one?

@robbie574 Very easy, double sided tape around the outside, plastic the window then blow dry it....

@BlueCollarSurvival Yea..
CaptainBerz 1 year ago
@CaptainBerz do they make triple pane windows? I'd just get inch thick plexi glass if I could LOL
BlueCollarSurvival 1 year ago
I never liked doing that, I like to get fresh air in my place even when its super cold out.
Good to have for the next small pox attack though.
