  • ahh! its a damn best video I've ever seen. Remember the other scene he said "Last week I turned 95 years old.....sometimes I think God forgot about me..."

  • so sad

  • If Burgess Meredith died 500 times i'd cry everytime lol wtf?

  • This moment and why chuck dies in the first one has to be the saddest moments in both of them

  • this kinda foreshadowed burgess meredith's death

  • @NickInfante92

Yep, two years after filming he realldy died...

It's so sad, but peaceful, if you die like this.

My great grandmother died like that. She had heart pills and they wanted to take her out like every sunday, but she fell asleep watching TV and never woke up...

She didn't touch her pills, just slept in peacefully.

  • God I miss Matthau, Lemmon and Meredith. They were great actors.

  • He died doing what he loved..sitting by the lake having a fish in the peace and quiet ....Thats the way I wanna go

  • "Looks like God remembered ya, pop."

Such a sad and beautiful scene

  • Why is it when burgess meredith dies in movies it's always so sad, however the death soundtracks sound so similar.

  • Still makes me cry.

  • I cried when I saw this for the first time

  • Sad and the most touching scenes in this movie!

  • The one dislike was probably the Mrs.

  • What is the name of the sad songplaying in the background when he first walks up to dad.

  • @Wilsons709 it's called "God Remembers You" by Alan Silvestri.

  • VERY well acted scene by all involved.

  • The 2 Grumpy Old Men movies have a certain charm to them. For example, I love how the scenery of the state of Minnesota is practically a co-star. In Grumpy Old Men we get to see how nice it looks with all that snow and ice. And in Grumpier Old Men we get to see how even nicer it looks underneath all that snow and ice. Just beautiful. The lovely small hometown feel of this movie also adds to the charm. Makes one want to move there to live & hopefully have Max, John, Pop, and Ariel as neighbors.

  • Must've been a pain in the ass having to carry him back to the car and drive him to the mortuary, couldn't he have just died at home? Instead he goes all the way out to this lake and fucks up a fishing trip, weather was nice too , what a shame.

  • what a well made movie. Love those 3 men.

  • Sad scene but he went the way he wanted to. Whoever disliked this needs their ass kicked.

  • Great scene. You never really die if the people who loved you always remember you.

  • such a beautiful music for this particular moment!

  • hey

  • So Sad :(

RIP Burgess Meredith,Walter Matthau, and Jack Lemmon.

    Make God Laugh!!

  • Why would anyone dislike this? Grow Up.

  • That is a well done movie. You laugh hard and than when a tragic moment hits you feel it. Nobody can't be saddened by that moment fiction or not. A good way to go though. In a beautiful spot waiting for your son to come join you to go fishing...

  • @NJburbsSeeker Amen to that. That's the way I'd like to go out. It just looked so peaceful.

  • I hope when I go, it happens in a nice tranquil place like this.

  • I love those movies and this was one of the saddest scenes I've ever seen.

  • Very touching moment. One of my favorite movies.

  • God help Walter, Jack and Burgess, all gone but not forgotten. The halls of heaven will b forever ringing with applauds for these 3 gentlemen. God bless them and may we all on day rejoin them when r time comes

  • @1888Gilly true, one of a kind

  • this is the single movie that made me cry

  • This scene is so sad ...when i saw this i remember that i must get thru this too one day .... this is the natural cyrcle or life and we cant do anything about it.

Anyhow , this is a nice place and way to die ...near at a splendid lake , fishing and with a fast and painless death.

  • When it came to Burgess Meredith, the death of his characters were always sad. It's a toss up when it came to Mick's death from Rocky III and Grandpa's death from Grumpy Old Men. Death is a cruel fuckrat, but we all go regardless of how we go. RIP Burgess Meredith, Walter Matthau, and Jack Lemmon.

  • I remember shedding quite a few tears when I first saw this. Such a sad scene

  • "looks like god remembered you pop" :'(

  • Beautiful scene!! ...Sitting by a lake is not a bad place to be when it's your time to go.

  • O scena foarte trista

  • hey I agree with you,,,i really need something where i can get the track,,,could anybody help me??greetings

  • First, you simply couldn't have acted out this scene any better than Lemon did here. His facial expressions really exhibit at once a disbelief and great sense of sorrow. I really think the most powerful part of this scene is the lake as a background to the silhouette of the sofa and the two men, with the moving musical score. You can almost appreciate this as the last time these two will ever share company in this familiar place. Very very moving.

  • It choked me up the way he was telling his troubles and asking his dad's advice before he knew he was dead, it just shows no matter how old someone is, they still want and need their parents comfort and guidance till the day they die.

  • This scene was well written, well acted and the music just added the final touch to truely make it touching. When the italian mother puts the flower in the water - that's when I cried.

  • @halifaxboyns me to

  • so sad :(

In the DVD the scene is actually called 'God Remembered'. i wasnt

When i bought it and saw the name of the scene i automatically knew it would be a death scene... but i wasnt expecting it to be my favorite perverted grandpa ;(

  • Saddest scene in the entire movie, makes me cry everytime I watch this. Makes me think of my grandparents. A beautiful but saddest scene:(.

    RIP Burgess Meredith

  • That is the best way to die...no pain, no memory and your are spending your last breath at the place you are happiest. God forbid I pass away I would want to go in my sleep laying in bed at night.

  • What a way to go...to just be sitting there looking out at the lake and falling asleep...

I hope the end of my life is as beautiful.

  • This a very sad scene. It gets me everytime.

  • Honestly, I don't know which was sadder, when he died in this movie or Rocky 3. Both were so sad!!

  • I am not ashamed to say I still cryh when I see this and I am as "macho" as they get. This was just plain sad!!!

  • *crying*

  • ahhh... what is the title of this song?! so beautiful...

  • whats the title of this music? I know its alan silvestri.

  • "God remembers you"

  • this is the most touching scene in any movie

  • definetly the saddest scene in this movie and the last.

  • Saddest thing in the movieT_T!! But at the same time it was really beautiful. Made me think of my grandmother. I really loved with Gus repeated his dad's quote, saying "Looks God remembered ya Pop".

  • Just to add, isn`t Sophia Loren of the most beautiful classy ladys? I think so.. And perfect for this high class movie! ;)

  • For me the part that hits me hard is right after he lists everything that's wrong and says the line:

"Now what am I gonna do about that?"

  • The music is beautiful!! Alan Silvestri baby!

  • i got teary eyed in this scene!

  • Me too. But I think it was a wonderful thing to have in the third and last movie. It makes the films even better. That sad scene makes the comedy more "seriously", better and with a foundation. We saw something like this in the first "Arthur" movie. And the arguing between Walther and Jack is the best in movie history. Just lovely man :)

  • Such a touching tragic scene.

  • I'm pretty sure we all knew anyway.

  • such a beautiful and sad scene

  • Must be the saddest moment ever.

Agreed. The first time I saw this years back I felt like someone hit me in the chest with a sledgehammer. It still has that effect today.

  • @chaospoet I hear you on that one.
