  • 20 years later , we must agree that no one can kill the floor like HAMMER !!! The man was so creative and talented !!!

  • people were hypocritical. they hated on him because he had sponsors like pepsi etc. they called him a sell out because he was making money from those endorsements. but look at everyone now. everyone has soda commercials and clothing line etc. it is smart to have multiple sources of income. he was innovative in that! hammer will always have my respect.

  • Homeboy in the bikers with the BK's on is killin me. Hammer was the real thing though the Bay was fucking smashing in 86, hit Broadway than the Palladium, walk down that ramp through the mirrors and kill that dance floor.

  • @cursedbat I wish people would give him the credit he deserves. We need positive role models today. The girls were bad, all could dance. Where's the talent today?

  • This man is a legend.

  • Don't like him dissing run dmc, but LOVED this song when out came out and when it came on at parties, EVERYBODY was up dancing...it's tricky just didn't inspire the same kind of movement, but hammer? No contest. Cold go mc hammer

  • fuck nigas

  • CAPTAIN HAMMER!!!!!!!! the hammer.......is his penis.

  • Didn't like the RUN DMC diss but when this video came out , DAMN the whole scene changed. He was a true pioneer, clothing line , toys, commercials and a cartoon. Queen Latifiah called him a sellout. Now she's making movies and commercials. They all need to thank Hammer.

  • @mb6085 True that! Hamma put Oakland on THE MAP!!! Too Short brought bass to Oakland. Queen Latifah can't stop making those comforting NIGGA MAMMY movies. Just like Oprah. See this is where the Blackman has gone soft. We let the woman dictate our manhood thanx to those hollywood HOOKNOSES. It's not natural, it's by design. This brotha is self made. Ice Cube with his fake, uncle tom sellout, jew-made bitch ass, soft faggot. sissy ain't Shit but a sellout.

  • This is the best dance rap video ever, in my opinion. Go hammer.

  • who was he dissin on here was it RUN dmc or LL cool j

  • 5 words...THEY WAS FUCKIN IT UP!!!!!

  • wow, when the somolians came to the us in the mid 90s i can see where they got the fashion from. from late 80s mc hammer lol

  • ooohhh... I'm a pumps- in- the- bumps GYRL! Whose the baddest dancer....MC. H....or M.J.?

  • This video REALLY doesn't get the historical revolutionary respect it deserves. I was in my late teens going on my early 20's when this video came out. It changed the ENTIRE dance scene in the clubs and in a lot of music videos! People talk about Hammer because he wasn't too smart with his money, but you can't minimize the importance of what he did with his music coupled with entertaining his audience.

  • someone could help me. as the song is called leaving the primerita video first video song

  • YOU BETS PUT ON DA HAMMER!

  • This was some real party music

  • THIS HIS THE SHIT

  • I remember having this cassette tape.

  • Yes, I was one of those haters... M.C. Hammer much props for keeping the energy in Hip Hop!!! PEACE

  • Gotta respect Hammer....he could dance his butt off!

  • Oh wow thanks for the memories. This is the best example of how the dance the Running man should be done.

  • 240p

  • MAN! I use to dance like this when I was younger! LMAO Crazy thing is I can still do it! wow!

  • 2 Bigg adn that red Troop jogging suit made this made this video....

  • This nigga is the OG of cool! I don't care what they say, Hammer had STYLE!

  • watching this today compared to todays music is so refreshing....its simple and genuine, the girls look natural and have REAL bodies!!! no autotune,no bling,no half naked chicks- just showcasing their pure talent....thats all!!

  • Hammer was the Business!

  • 2:01 Hammer, Original Shuffler.

  • Comment removed

  • Brings back memories of high school fun!

  • They was havin fun dats wat it all about da energy thro da roof u dnt c dat to much now days

  • This is fucken Hip-hop

  • he made other songs????

  • I have always been a fan of Hammer since beginning and although he made bad choices with his money in the beginning I appreciated him helping ppl from his hometown. You're bound to make bad choices in the beginning but once the hype of having alot of money has passed you'll need to make major changes if you never wanna struggle financially again in the latter years of your life and be able to enjoy it.

  • GOTTA LOVE THIS !!!!

  • I saw him open for Guy and Patty Labelle in Philly back in the day. I watch the stage shows now and it feels like something is missing now that they had then. Talent.

  • hammer invented the shuffle

  • May not have been great lyrically but he could get you hyped!

  • @Profeus No he wasn't that lyrical, but I can't name another rapper who could rock the crowd better. I've been to one of his concerts & it's an energy unheard of.

  • YOU SYMBOLIZE HOPE

  • For all the Hammer haters...whether or not he was a good rapper, he made a HUGE name for himself that still rings 20+ years later. There were hundreds of MCs that were lyrically better than him...but do we sit and discuss them, good or bad, like we do Hammer????

  • live at tulsa state fair tonite

  • epic!

  • mc hammer shuffling>lmfao shuffling

  • Best part of the whole composition is 5:06... That is such a ill ass drop, even for today's standards

  • Just seen him last night and don't have it anyone.

  • at 1:52 , it sounds like he says "I take a dump on her table, son"

  • If an artist trys to dance like this. they'll fall out on and off the stage..

  • 46 people dont know what real music is

  • NOBODY does it like Hammer! The man had a totally unique style of dancing that still has never been duplicated. That says it all.

  • Hammer was "Too legeit to quit! "

  • der typ hat doch was genommen :D ich will das auch können :P

  • I wanna Troop suit!!!!!

  • did he shuffling...?cool ~!!

  • he was thin.lol.

  • I KNOW his ass and the dancers was tired that day... lol

  • I remember when this video debuted, I called my wife into the living room to come see it. Said, you need to come and see this man work it out! Damn, I need a HYPE-MAN too! But this negro did lose his ever-loving mind, and got full of himself when he thought he could out dance Michael Jackson in his video 'Too Legit' Most of his lost money must have went to crack thinking he could out dance MJ.

  • This is why he got no play in NY. How you gonna dis Run-DMC?

  • 44 people can't Pump It Up )

  • Have you seen her? Tell me have you seen her?

  • THIS is a great song for cardio. work it work it,

  • hammer only had 4 good songs! lets get it started, pump it up, turn dis mutha, N cant touch this! everything else was garbage!

  • Dancing to a MC Hammer song is the perfect test to see if you're truly in shape or not hahahaha

  • I would have loved to seen MC Hammer and Michael Jackson perform together in a dance-off

  • there needs to be a revival of Hammer style dancing

  • @kurlythepotato

Yes, there would be less obesidity in the world!!!!

  • Hammer was the man! This was joint in the 4th grade.

  • muy buenos los bailes

  • one of the greatest

  • Man, Hammer had a great Hype-man! That is a lost art in hip-hop/rap today! I'm sweating watching Hammer work that shiz out!

  • Hammer was the first rapper that had mainstream endorsement deals and the other rappers hated him for it. They said Hammer sold out and dissed him. But then they found out later how lucrative those endorsement deals were, and jumped their back-bitting @ss on the wagon. Now we got Ice Cube making kiddie family movies, who dissed Hammer the hardest. I got nothing but love for Cube, but money will change a nicca's attitude...Are We There Yet?

  • @MrPrincepop

^5^ they talked about him like a dog.but he was/is a positive roll model. He did ALOT for the kids of Oakland b4 it was fashionable,

  • thats a dancing bastard thrrrr.....go head Hammer!!!

  • As I said on his other vid sites, I liked him back in the day (still do) but dissin' DMC is NOT cool- and as far as old school rappers are concerned- no one can f*ck with MOE DEE!

  • WHO IN DA HELL DISLIKED THIS VIDEO??? THEY MUST NOT KNOW HOW TO DANCE LOL

  • @JohnNicholasDLC - Yeah, MO DEE was the SHIZNICK!

  • mc hammer = legend ;D

  • Great moves, Hammer was Bad!

Young rappers at the time criticized him for "Selling out"(doing commercials endorsements, TV)....

Then went right ahead and did the SAME DAMN THING!

    Don't hurt em Hammer!

  • I can't diss Hammer.. I was doing every one of these dance moves.. Hammer was an innovator for his time..No one else was doing this at that time..Plus it still sounds better than all that auto-tune shit thats out right now!!

  • pump it up homeboyyyyy

  • pump it up still is a clubbanger !

  • Mc Hammer was an entertainer!!!!!! That was was dancin' mutha lol.

  • Its´s the beginn of the shuffle in this video :" The Running Man" !!!

  • PPL can say wut they want about HAMMER now,but the man was sooo raw at this time. There was nobody like him when he came out, even the hardest dudes like hammer. He made it O.K.to dance & he danced his a#? off! Rappers used 2 dis him 4 crossin over now they do it all tha time.HIP HOP SHOULD NEVER 4GET WUT HE DID 4 IT.

  • Imagine this mc hammer in a dance battle against Michael Jackson

  • @pokey991 Too funny! And you have a point! LOL

  • LOL, he dance like the Fresh Prince of Bell Air

  • @dragonbrave8 i think you mean the fresh prince of bell air dances like him.

  • The REAL Dancing and rapping I miss.

  • McHammer is best :)

  • Remember seeing this on Video Soul back in the day with Donnie Simpson....Didnt that nigga always look high...lol

  • Is LMFAO trying to call their dance their shuffle? Cuz Hammer did it before them

  • Yeah 35 people don't know how to dance.

  • As an old school hip hop rapper and pop locker, I would never have purchased an mc hammer record due to his weak rhyme skills. On the other hand, I used to record his videos onto vhs tapes and play them regularly due to his outstanding dancing and entertainment style. This was one of the videos I had, and I am so happy that this was uploaded to youtube. Peace to Hammer, from LJ.

  • Too Big M.C. should have done the dance too. By the time 2 legit came out he was Way 2 Big M.C.

This my ring tone right now! Anybody calls, I can start Hammer dancing and drop a few myself.

  • Comment removed

  • The Run-Dmc diss was wack but other than that this my $hit!!! I love all the dance moves they was killin shit!! I was like 7 yrs old when this came out & it still jams!! His rhymes weren't great, but if you can dance you in there!!

  • YOI REMEMBER TALENT SHOWS AND DANCING TO HAMMER, HE IS MY DANCE INFLUENCE TO THIS DAY

  • THIS WAS A JAM BACK IN THE DAY. BUT REGARDLESS OF THAT, HE HAS NO PLACE DISSIN RUN DMC. THEY WERE THE ONES THAT MADE "HIP HOP" NOT RAP MAINSTREAM. REMEMBER "WALK THIS WAY"? ENOUGH SAID. AND THIS FOOL WANTED TO CHALLENGE MICHAEL JACKSON TO A DANCE CONTEST?

  • If you don't love the Hammer, your just a hater. Out of the goodness in his heart he brought up leeches that he thought were his friends. I wonder if they are dead, in prison or rehab. Say what you want about Neion Deion Sanders, but the guy lent him a huge chunk of change when he was down. Many, many thanks to the Hammer for all the great times that were had at the dance club while listening to his stuff.

  • Mc hammer was a beast on this record!!! Not only did he sell 66k from his trunk of his car, but when he re-released it thru capital records in 88 let's get it started went double platinum!! This album is my favorite from the hammer, it's just raw and even though his raps are average, his overall dancing and performance is phenomenal!!!

  • LMAO! OMG, I loved this back in the day and used to kick it with the moves from 5:05 to 5:13 but try to do them now with my old big ass? 'I've fallen, and I can't get up!'

  • Run DMC put Hip Hop on the map but Hammer took it to the mainstream. It's easy to dis him now but many of today's "artists" wouldn't be anywhere if not for Hammer.

  • When he was 'MC' Hammer, he was a -beast-. Yeah he dissed Run-DMC, mistake. But this first record was dopeness. 3rd Bass-- whateva. Who are they? Who in this generation even knows the name? Hammer is known even to younger kids, proof positive he made some kind of impact. Not to mention being able to spend up 30 Mil and still go bankrupt takes TALENT. :-p

  • it was all fun in the 90's now its outta control

  • Mc Hammer is beast!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oaktown's 357 all day!!!! Love them girls!!!!

  • thats where Carlton gets it from

  • 33 people are mad because they can't do this 2:00.

  • @BlackFang001 ah the running man xD with the right floor and socks it could work

  • "uh uh oh oh oh

    uh uh oh oh oh

    uh uh oh oh oh

    uh uh oh oh oh!"

  • Remember coming back from spring break 1989 in Texas and seeing this and saying damn it boy!!!!!! Was fresh really fresh and props to those folks in Converse,Tx who introduced this to me!!!!!!

  • in every video epic dancing moves lol!

  • Only Justin Bieber, satanists and the devil press "I don´t like it"

    Fk u Bieber

  • i like him better than MJ

  • I like how people only know MC Hammer cuz of Can't Touch This -.-

  • Hammer showed it's called....SHOW Bussiness .not stand there and hold my nuts Bussiness!

  • This is, no question, hammer's hardest shit! He pwned Rundmc with this.

  • @daywalker48603 Hey, why was he f-in with RUNDMC FOR.

  • @UScellularFIELD23 that's just it; I don't know why they had to beef. Everybody loves RunDmc. Run may have said something about him trying to rap. I know he was real vocal about Warren G.

  • @daywalker48603 Yeah, I don't know if you know this 3rd Bass that song Gas face they tell Hammer to shut the f-up, and then they say what do we think about Hammer and they start making weird noises. But this song was actually tight.

  • @UScellularFIELD23 3rd bass was tight! Gas face was a great response to this song. Hammer made a lot of enemies in NYC, dissin the kings of rock was a bold move.

  • We didn't have a high rate of obesity back in the day, this is why.

  • Man i aint even gonna lie, every since i seen this video i always wanted to dance with them swear if you see this you would want to so dont perp the beat, ohh the beat play this shit in the club swear you will get up

  • I remember recording this video on my VCR and rewinding it to learn ever move he did and dance at parties showing the hell off! Thanks Hammer for helping my get some *@% in college because girl saw you dance good always thought about you using the same moves in bed!

  • this was before the commercials, the cartoon with the dancing shoes, and soundtrack for the addams family. this is he had just ONE of the LIVEST HYPE MEN IN DA GAME.. AND HE HAD THE OAKTOWN 357 GIRLS!!!!

  • Love this

  • mc hammer had THE BEST 90's dance style!!! so energetic and just fuckin FUN!

  • Old school dance moves ROCK !!!!!!! :D

  • Just looking at this video has made me tired!!!!!!!!!

  • Just looking at this video has made me tired!!!!!!!!!

  • Day-um! Sistahs work OUT on this one...!

  • there wasn't a need for the wii or kinect back in the day when this video was on the box, mtv, bet and other rap video shows ACROSS the country.

  • I Dedicate this to my cousin AKA.....(WORLD FREE!)The one who predicted Greatness LOL!! Booski love!!! Love your cuz MEEK! DETROIT STAND UP! And yes you put me up on Hammer's shoe comming off towards the end of the video...LOL,

  • I Dedicate this to my cousin AKA.....(WORLD FREE!)The one who predicted Greatness LOL!! Booski love!!! Love your cuz MEEK! DETROIT STAND UP!

  • If you weren't sweating at the end of Hammer's songs you weren't dancing hard enough.LOL!!

  • @faaifo Like I'm sweating now!!! LOL xD

  • Mc hammer's videos were like exercise videos back in the day, cuz when they came on, you were up and moving like mad, and doing some crazy calistenics to them! He used to get down back when he first came out. He was so live, and could dance too. At the time, he was the ultimate entertainment machine. MJ was a good entertainer in his own right, don't get me wrong, but he didn't bring it like this (back when Hammer was starting out)!.

  • OH OH OH OH OH OH OH!!!

  • Hammer was the MJ of rap . He had the skills of good lyrics and knew how to entertain with his dancing.

  • @cirethgr8 That was the problem, Hammer didn't connect on the lyrical side. If he would of been as stong in that area as he was with the dancing. Nobody would of been able to say anything about him. It would of been you can't touch this foreal!

  • THIS IS MY SHYT RIGHT HERRRRE BOYEEEEE! F*CK EVERYBODY WHO DISSED HAMMER! HE IS THE MUTHA F*UCKIN MAN!

  • This video is funny with the 1911 thing on

  • DA BROTHA CAN DANCE!

  • Gotta give dude his props...he did his thing.

  • Thats one helluva hype man

  • Comment removed

  • the female dancer on the left started the next move too soon @ 2:34...played it off well though...lol

  • the move from 2:02 is sooo nice!

  • @Voochl The introduction to "The Running Man"

  • these punks today don't no nothing about loving what you do hammer didn't play

  • Damn!! Hammer danced like no other...lovvvvvve it!!

  • What ever happened to the Too Big MC (Hammer's hype man)?

  • How you gonna dis RUN-DMC? Thats why he got no love on the East coast. Also the fact he was not much of a rapper. He could dance though.

  • That's not why bro, West Coast rappers never got love from the East Coast until the Chronic hit. That scene where Hammer took the mic from RunDMC was poignant though as the symbolic passing of the torch for hip hop, because from that point on, rap music became largely more dance-oriented than lyric-oriented -- a trend that still hold true today. UNFORTUNATELY.

  • @kmccary Im from NYC, I know I had a problem with such a week rapper going after the greatest rap group from NY. Run-DMC's success open the door for guys like him. Hammer could not rap. And west coast rappers did get love on the east when they were saying somthing. I think Oakland rappers are wat better then L.A. cats. But not Hammer. Hammer never would have been a hit without video. He could dance.

  • YOU BETS PUT ON DA HAMMER!!

  • I'm 35 years old. I loved this song, and NOTHING else he ever did, musically. I hear he's a good dude. I'm happy to hear it. That has little to do with my own entertainment. I'm not hating on Hammer. I was never a big fan, but I begrudge him nothing. I'm about the lyrics, not just presentation. He put on a pretty show, but I'd rather watch Rakim walk back an forth across stage. I'm more of a fan of that type of hip hop. Hammer's a legend, but not my cup of tea usually...except this song.

  • beat is so sick

  • funny cant touch it is a nice song from him

  • 2 BIG, ACE JUICE, OAKTOWN 357 backin' up the HAMMA. Propa.

  • 1:58 shuffling?

  • I love the way they start dancing at the very beginning of the video. They could dance they ass off (Hammer and Oaktown 357)

  • this remainds me of the mtv awarts in 2005 he did this song mixed with cant touch this it was so awesome mc hammer for ever

  • i still think its funny how he dissed run dmc and jmj, with out saying their names. it was more visuall than lyricall - most cats today do a visuall and lyricall

  • Since I'm a grown man, I can admit I liked Hammer back in da day! LOL Umm, his dancers were very good. I used to hate West Coast music. MC Hammer was like the only west coast video i could watch in the late 80's

  • At 25 seconds in look to the left and see LiL P doing the Cabbage Patch the correct way!!!! very rare to see it done correctly...LOL

  • @rainonariver: That isn't the cabbage patch. The cabbage patch is done with more of a circular motion of the shoulders. Janet does it in her Pleasure Principle video. He is doing a version of the Robocop.

  • LMAO funny a** video. Especially the part about dethroning Run DMC!! Too funny!!

  • This is the video that started it all for me.. i was officially a fan at this moment!!
