  • so the one i want can open up mail HELL YEA

  • Ugg, you can't have ANY of these for carry in Mass!

  • can you throw these?

  • @immaredpanda I wouldn't recommend it. It's not what they are designed for. I think they would be too light

  • what was the point of the last test with the hammer? To show us that the knife can be used as a nail? :D

  • Should we be scared if they can make plastic do that?

  • Yeah but you can sneak these through metal detectors...

  • Some of these would make badass looking letter / package openers, But if your looking for something to defend yourself with, spend the extra few bucks and buy something made of steel.

  • how long do they keep their edge?

  • lynn looks way diffrent in these older vids

  • What is the point of the knife-bending test? Is it to show it won't snap?

  • @furrycardboardbox It depends on the test. Some are to show that the knife is flexible and will not snap. Others (such as the British Proof Test) seen in some of our other videos is to show that the blade can flex and return true.

  • Uhm, are the edges sharp enough to cut? Or is all you can do stab with the knives?

  • @evil001987 They will cut, but remember they are not steel

  • 7:23 ... how does he hammer so fast??? lol

  • so i guess you can't resharpen them

  • There plastic?

  • @TheeUnweakened Fibreglass reinforced plastic

  • As much as I like Cold Steel, I can't help but laugh when they check their mail with these knives with heavy metal music playing in the background.

  • Cardboards are soo pisstakin

  • omg can u imagine how much cardboard they had to buy for this commercial? APPRECIATE IT!

  • could you throw the jungle dart?

  • Thumbs up if u were thinking man they get a lot of mail

  • I want one! What a great idea.

  • dont want to mix these up with your cold steel practice knife

  • The cat tanto seems like the best deal. Plus they a metal detector proof :D

  • i thought these were trainers...

  • The box test is the most realistic test Cold Steel has ever attempted. I mean, come on guys, what do you use your knife for 99% of the time? We could just use scissors, but I always go for my knife to open a package.

  • wears the beef

  • HAHAHAHA The Lightsaber kid grew up. Glad to hear

  • This is amazing. At first when he went for the box I was like no way. But when I seen how easy it cut that tape, I was like wow, that is some serious shit. And not to mention we he stabbed it through a long toilet paper roll, sold me.....is this a joke or a real company? Seriously.

  • @zombiehunter751 real company... remember these knives are plastic

  • every time i watch these guys i kinda go LOL they are funny :Dserious faces but empety inside.

  • sorry

    knifelife.ru/articles_Test_Plastic.htm

  • so impressive!!!!. i immediately want to buy some, but Google bring me this

knifelife.ru/articles_Test_Plastic.htm you can use Google translate or simple look pictures? very disappointing. so cold steel fraud us with advertising?very sad :(

  • It would've been cool if he opened the box and whipped out some throwing knives n threw them at a 10lb meat slab lol

  • are those push daggers shock absorbent?

  • @Gears408 Kraton is shock absorbant

  • I wanted to buy some of those, but now I know I will not. This sucks.

  • Thats plastic? Seriously?

  • hmmm..I need to open this here box. let me grab my $50 karumbit..that 'll do in the box for sure!

  • @TheKeyWestian you mean $10 bucks...

  • karambit kicks all those knives asses

  • i was hoping the opened package would reveal yet another cold steel knife

  • @DHSLfilms I expected that too!

  • man these guys really hate cardboard :D sweet blades

  • @citydriver lmao

  • I love their knives but this is why our earth is full of trash

  • @ 7:43 Yeah. Now get it out.

  • Do not leave these in a car on a hot day; the will melt!

  • It's hard to beat the penetration of a Delta Dart? *Pulls out a .45*

  • COLD STEEL!

    eXtreme Letter Opener!

  • must need tools if you need to hunt vampires or start a new high school mass murder cover story?

  • there's a reason most states ban these btw, mostly because they bypass metal detectors. (including airports) and the description even says they can be tucked or taped anywhere. who needs to tape a weapon exept someone who is hiding it? the ONLY real reason i can think of for having one of these, is loop-holes in the current law system, hence only criminals or those with criminal intents will have these.

  • @kingmigget Or someone who wants a low cost lightweight defensive tool, and of course there is the coolness factor too.

  • Wow ! When I first saw them I thought they were just trainers, but now I understand they're really usable. Going to do shopping next week-end :) (love the skean-dou)

  • wow, its amazing how stupid some of you people are. These are NOT utility knives. These are NOT made from metal. They are basically extremely affordable pieces of self defense. Sharp enough to cut paper without ripping it, so they are sharp enough to protect you. Strong enough to penetrate multiple layers of cardboard, so they are strong enough to penetrate any would-be attacker. They are scary enough to scare off any punk. Durable, lightweight self defense made by a top notch company.

  • @MinionofHell Well said sir, agree 100%

  • how do you even sharpen these?

  • shit, look out pizza boxes...tough lookin toys tho

  • shit look out pizza boxes

  • I really like the Cold Steel Nightshade series. I don't know how many of you actually own one or have even tried them but they are very sturdy. I keep the FGX Push Blade on me when I go into the city 'just in case' something happens. I'm a very security minded individual and I feel confident in carrying and possibly using these. They are light, easy to conceal, economical, non-metallic weapons made with self-defense in mind. I support the philosophy behind this product and the product itself.

  • Only problem I ever had with it was simply that in scouts, they always said to cut away from your body...

  • @LuissenTheFox - Dude, this is NOT Mickey Mouse Boy Scout butter knife crap...

  • @thegrautube It applies to more than just scouts. Safety is important, and these blades when sharpened properly stay sharp. It would suck to be careless and get it in you.

Argue all you want, but I still would rather be safe.

  • @LuissenTheFox - No argument here bro. The point is THAT THESE ARE NOT BOY SCOUT KNIVES. The NightShade series was designed for a purpose. When your goal is to survive a blade attack, trust me, you don't go Boy Scout. The folks who demonstrate in this video are industry EXPERTS. There is a specific reason for EVERYTHING they demonstrate and since you missed the boat, you are clueless. Best regards dude...

  • You guys are so silly. I'll bet you if I were to stab you with one of these you would still die.

  • wow, what a waste of cardboard

  • the letter opening and boxes are so lame

  • comes in handy if you are attacked by someone wearing multiple layer cardboard armor.

  • @mrkiky - Funny, but you should really check out the density of cardboard to clothing and human skin. If someone comes at you with one of these, your gonna get stuck. It won't be pretty.

  • 3:06 you can do that with just scissors.. KEYS even. wow.

  • @dombombed uh go ahead and film you putting some keys through leather

  • @PatriotRadioMilitia i said 3:06 . hes cutting ENVELOPES. not LEATHER. derp.

  • @dombombed perhaps you should be more specific when talking shit . derp you cant slice paper with keys a dull blade tears

  • Aint this the part where some rednecks just runs out and says God bless america!!!?

  • If I ever have get into a fight with a ups truck I know which knife I'm reaching for...

  • TACTICAL CARDBOARD MASSACRE!

  • FINALLY, ive broken so many knives trying to open up my ups packages but now with the cold steel kerambit I can open letters and ups packages with ease!

  • Goes without saying that a blade made from resin can not be honed to the same kind of cutting edge as high quality steel. The demonstrations only serve to show that they will tolerate that they are useful for some cutting and stabbing action even so. The big thing about this kind of knife, is that it does not show up on scans as metal. Basically a pretty rotten idea, securitywise.

  • @comingviking If i remember correctly they are made with a small metal cylinder in the handle area to keep them from being illegal and brought into airports and courthouses and the like.

  • Wait wait wait... so this series is just a deluxe version of plastic party cutlery?

  • @fartx211 yeah the metal on em sucks

  • Wow. What a joke... do you guys always open all mail with oversized knives?

  • oh noes! beware the fearsome cardboard golems!

  • is this supposed to be a joke???and i am serious asking that...

  • i shit myself watching this shit.

  • You guys need to understand that these weapons are basically made of plastic (pretty amazing), so they are lightweight and can also pass through metal detectors. You can't expect even the strongest mixture of plastic and fiberglass to be more durable than metal. So, for future reference, research about something before you you make rash conclusions.

  • Anyone else giggle when the kerambit demo started... seriously... opening letters and boxes...

  • @talonofblades06 Human skin is just the same.

  • @TheNickhis agreed, but you'd think that they would have found something more interesting for a professional demo than dramatic letter opening.

  • @talonofblades06 yeah it almost didnt even open the box...ha

  • @talonofblades06 And I have a feeling using that to open letters probably makes the retardedly simple task of opening letters about 100 times more dangerous than with a normal small pocket knife lol.

  • @talonofblades06 - True enough, however they are just trying to demonstrate the versatility and degree of the blades, duh. The series serves it's purpose well as all of them can more than get the job done. I guarantee you, if someone comes at you with one of these, YOU better take them SERIOUSLY. Nuff said.

  • I am a huge fan of cold steel but I noticed that the fgx series are mainly for stabbing not cutting

  • @6047803319a yeah they made for kiling someone at night silently :D stabbing from behind ,best for assassins...

  • @talonofblades06 i know! omg they're so stupid! everyone knows that a real man uses a claymore to hack all their years mail open in one fell swoop!

  • @talonofblades06 Most knives made out of GRN (glass reinforced nylon) are intended to be used as box cutters.

  • god this is so stupid. if cold steel put half their budget into their knives as they do their marketing then its possible they might come out with a decent product

  • big dead, you stabbed through some cardboard and plywood, i'm a huge fan of cold steeland own several of your products, but this is just not helping make a point. i can to everything on this video with a steak knife.

  • @kingmigget i agree i own a bunch of their products but man when i see videos like this from the company it saddens me and makes their products look cheap and crappy, like "if you ever get attacked by a cardboard man then use our cold steel plastic butt plugs"this is embarassing and i really cant defend cold steel when they do this gay shit

  • @kingmigget

You must have one hell of a a steak knife 0_0

  • @H0tkebab - Right. That dude is probably sporting a magical steak knife with a buttery soft pink silk sheath. Good Lord, I'd pay to see him stick it in a vise and pressure bend it like in the video! What a dupe, lol! He'd create a new weapon called the POS bent steak knife that he would probably still use to cut bologna or something...

  • @kingmigget - A steak knife? Dude, I'd pay to see that. As a matter of fact, please do post your YouTube video doing so, I am sure it would be quite laughable. Truly, if you were a connoisseur of weapons, you'd see the light. Man, it would be priceless to see you put a steak knife into a vise and pressure bend it! I'd like to see you stab something after that, lol! Your comment and those who agree with it = FAIL!

  • Comment removed

  • @kingmigget is a Steak knife Plastic? btw C S offers steak knifes if i remember right :P

  • @kingmigget Perhaps, but...will it blend?

    (...or hijack a plane? ^_^)

Also, if you're of that persuasion, they have something for you too

  • @kingmigget yes except for the fact that none of these are steel....or ceramic...... and are made of high quality polymer....which is essentially plastic

  • @kingmigget not really

  • @kingmigget Basically it's not metal and you can take it on an airplane with out anyone knowing. And yes i said it. =]

  • @PandaMagicFTW yeah, because thats a great fucking selling point. wtf?

  • @kingmigget They obviously can't market it for that. But, that's one of the main reasons why people buy plastic knives. It's because metal detectors can't detect them. Why not just buy metal ones then? They stab better and cut WAY better. Of if you wanted it to be lightweight then why not high grade aluminum? So it can actually cut. These plastic ones can be taken through security.

  • @PandaMagicFTW i dont remember the system's name, but in alot of airports they use in nowaday they arent metal detectors. they like, take a type of photo that can see every item, down to each pube lol. the security then goes all over your virtual body pic and through your bags without actually going through anything. i've seen people try this actually. well, one person anyways. didnt work, not saying it couldnt work. just not for that guy i suppose

  • @kingmigget Oh, yeah I've heard of that system. I think most airports still use the metal detector type though, since I travel alot and I've never came across those before. But, yeah, you wouldn't be able to bring it through the 3D picture type, it's too difficult.

  • @kingmigget These aren't made of metal but made of GRN (glass reinforced nylon) . Most knives made of this material cannot go through cardboard without their tips bending or breaking, so Cold Steel is just demonstrating how strong their knives are.

  • @Aqualiteking i understand that.

  • Lmao wtf is this bullshit?

  • a terrorist would never want one of these becaue it's not like it was made to sneak on an airplane or anything..

  • I want a delta dart, FGX puch knife blade 2, and FGX karambit ! :)

  • I wonder if you can take these past metal detectors.

  • @ToothpickMcBrainy You can!

  • @LFPS0311

EXCELLENT! Now to stab that Kenyan Muslim Marxist......WITH MA DICK!

(disclaimer-irl proponents of Obama as being part of a conspiracy, no. Just no.)

  • @ToothpickMcBrainy yes you can as long as you take the meatel ring of the end

  • if you're retarded---if you think pro wrestling is real---if you love monster trucks---if you think larry the cable guy's accent is real---if you live in a trailer---then this is the product for you

  • this guy thinks hes the baddest mother fucker on the planet

  • are these completely plastic?

  • i can do all that they do in this video 10x better with a old rusty skrewdriver

  • i do not purchase cold steel knives anymore due to 2 reasons #1 i received a broken tipped tanto spike directly from the front counter of a store, which means it was shipped from the company as such, #2 they have a shitty warranty, #3 the spike i ended up with had the physical edge completely break off and also #4 cold steel prices are shitty for the steel quality you get...way to advertise to people that know nothing about cutlery steel. ill stick with SOG and Ka Bar

  • @fireball676 Cold steels selling point isn't especially their quality, but the weird shit they have for sale. If I really needed a knife I would forge a simple but good one myself rather than buying it.

About that tanto, though, I have heard a lot about counterfeit cs knives. Did you check for that?

  • @SuperLongbeard i bought it from a store that showcases every brand...they couldnt afford to fake it...i really dont want to put their name up because they sell so many other great items...but no they are kinda like a walmart for knives and they have different booths for different brands..but yea i get what you are saying about the weird shit.

  • chuck norris does this with a pen

  • Boo wahh Terrorists aren't even really religious, they're political-minded never grew up kids in mens hairy bodies.

  • i seriously thought this was going to be a line of sunglasses that "make you look like a total badass while cutting ropes, cardboard, and big chunks of meat"

  • говно,а не ножи. и как кубатон тоже говно. а картон я и шариковой ручкой пробью. признаюсь,сдуру купил один из таких,по-этому не голословен

  • 4:13 omfg u can chop a person in half with that knife!!!

    (Carboard person)

  • I had a fight with a tranformer and the entire blade shatered on impact , what apierce of $#@$%^ knifes are.

  • @TheSOGDog This also means that normal people can bring them on planes too.

  • @TheSOGDog You know modern imaging technology doesnt just sense metal, it actually can see plastics and whatnot as well, and its not just those full body scanners. Most "metal" detectors work by bouncing waves of energy off a target and reading the relative density of whatever being scanned. If it detects something hard, like a knife, it'll go off.

  • THESE ARE MADE TOTALLY OF A PLASTIC THEY CALL GRIVORY

  • These appear to be one time knives in my oppinion, if they dull i don't see how you can sharpen frn, and frn is brittle for more than one self defense task.

  • @sandythebear It's Grivory.

  • @MetalSparks10 Ah, still the p.o.u. still seems one time esch

  • @sandythebear Yeah, pretty much is though lol

  • Virgin: Level 21

  • Knives that can penetrate cardboard and open postal packages!

Truly amazing. I never saw a knife do that before.

  • this stupid ass hillbillies are disrespecting the name of the karambit by even making one that its not sharpened!! and the way they used it its insulting!! wtf opening some mail gime a break what the hell is that, and your not supposed to just jam a karambit into things you cut with it!!!,damn and on top of all the misuse the karambit was still proven an icredible weapon,

  • @yuzukirules dude.. there plastic... they are literaly cool looking letter openers and last dich effort of protection

  • @darkninja225 there insulting the name of the karambit by making it a letter opener...

  • @yuzukirules well. the actual karambit they make [tiger claw] is a realy great knife im not here to promote them but they make great knives, and if this is insulting then look at the vid for tiger claw

  • @darkninja225 i have seen the tiger claw which look pretty good but they don't even know how to use it..

  • wouldnt this just make getting weapons into airports easier?

  • @DRAG0NSIN7 yeah, they should put a piece of steel in the handle so people can't smuggle these things onto planes

  • @stan1234655

You and Dragonsin, obviously don't know a thing about airport scanners. They are not metal detectors like that coin thing you use on the beach. The operate quite differently.

  • @karkkosvolfe so it just happens to be that whenever i go into an airport i cant pass through until i've removed everything metal from my body? those gates you walk through to get to the terminals, yeah those are metal detectors. they may not be the wavy things that you use on beaches but when did i say they were?

  • @stan1234655

No you didn't specifically state so. However, for reasons of not giving anyone ideas, I am not going into specifics. The sensors are not "only" a metal detector.

  • @DRAG0NSIN7 See, airport detectors detect density now. technically these'd be easier to find.

  • @Shrimpgoldfish oh i never knew that, thanks i thought that with such an awesome company like cold steel they wouldnt think about the drawbacks

  • so these are non metal blades with an edge to cut thats dope

  • @graffsucks yeah basically, but they arent anywhere near as sharp as a conventional steel blade

  • Wouldn't it be funny if these same effect on knives as glocks do on guns. Get over hyped by the police and than gangs. Then Bruce Willis's character in diehard 5 says how he encountered this super deadly knife that can get pass airport security. Shit would be hilarious and make me lol.

  • COLD STEEL STRONG

  • it looks like the back end is more dedly than the frontt, since all i saw was a bunch of random cardboard shanking and wood breaking with the pommel end. wheres the slicing? wheres the meat?

  • Do they come with sheaths?

  • @HDCYTFAN i hope but the probibly do because coldsteel always does

  • what no one seems to understand about these weapons is that are not made from ANY metal whatsoever, like stated in the video they are made from grivory, its basically a molded plastic knife (similar principle to ceramic knives used by chefs) you cant get your screwdriver, or your Stanley 80P through a metal detector can you? i have owned a Nightshade Skean for several months and despite its "plastic" construction the blade still cuts as well as the day i bought it..

  • good for getting through metal detectors

  • people are apparently made from cardboard.

  • i can get the same cardboard cutting effect with a sharpened screw driver

  • I tested the scare ability of having the tiger claw version up to my neck, trust me, that thing will kill like the regular, but your wallet won't hate you

  • @wingzero7X ya man aside from stupid remakrs am realy impressed i also orderd the karambit it arived this week so gota go get it am stoked on geting to finnaly try it 15$ hey cant go wrong for a tool my friend :)
