wow great demonstration man, the bit with the dremel making the tension tool would have been a little quicker on the bench grinder but i'm not complaining, just looked messy. are you a machinist of some sort? or just lock-pick as a hobby? maybe metallurgy. nice inch grid on the table for scale. now all i need is a good visual to print out for a set of a few picks.

nice try but way too much work. 90 percent of north american car windshield wipers have two 3/16 peices of flat malleable steel that run inside the rubber and just under the structeral channel. I get mine for a buck ea at a auto wreckers no grinder no torch. no quenching. the metal bends for making TORQUE tools exactly like your method and you don't have to eliminate all the excess material. I use a dremmel a pippen file and two or 3 odd shaped diamond files.

Sir, of all the videos out there explaining the ins and outs of making your own pick set, yours is the absolute best one to date. Method, materials, and tools are all available to the average hobbyist and your explanations are complete, through, and completely devoid of unnecessary cometary. Yes it is far easier to go out and purchase a pick set, but when you have lawfully compromised lock after lock in your trade or as a hobbyist with the set of your construction, the satisfaction is greater.
