  • The PS1 version of Gauntlet Legends just returns you to the HUB- it doesn't even HAVE a Game Over screen.

  • I remember loading my save and quitting just so I could see Gandalf get his ass kicked.

  • Apparently, the game threatens to kill Gandalf if you try to quit, and then does. Why?

  • he needed a hand

    but not that kind!

  • Ah, there's one of my traumatic childhood memories resurfacing.

    Good times, good times...

  • Who's the Harry Potter cosplayer again?

  • NO! NOT INTO THE FIRE, IT BUUUUUUUURNS!

  • Damn! that podium got bitch slapped

  • I bet that giant hand would become unclenched for a giant bag of Skittles.

  • You died.

    You quit.

    He died.

  • Devil: FOR NOT FINISHING THE STORY.... YOU...MUST....DIIIIIIIIE!!!

    Gandalf: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IT BUUUUUUUUUUURNS!!!

  • Oh God, the memories are flooding in.

  • GOC : Truly a gauntlet legend of Game overs

    *salute*

  • I forgot to add, this is the 600th video that this user has uploaded! Congrats to one of my favorite YT video uploaders!! :D

  • This looks like the PS1 version. The N64 doesn't have it because it doesn't have the processing power for such FMV. Also, the Game Over screens for sain N64 version as well as the arcade version needs to be uploaded as well.

  • @birdduh

Oh with enough compression you could get a few minutes of FMV in an N64 game, but it looked like Sega fucking CD when you did.

  • @AmazingL4rry I'm probably thinking the N64 had limited FMV processing while the PS1 had unlimited.

  • @birdduh

It wasn't really a matter of power, the N64 had more raw power than the PS1 on every front which is one aspect of why at the end of the day it actually was the better console of that generation. That stuff is pre-rendered meaning it was put together on a top end computer of the time then recorded as a video file, and you just play it back, and so it's really just a matter of space limitations on the storage medium. This short scene could have been made to work, the port was just lazy.

  • @AmazingL4rry Actually, IMHO, the PSX had more power because it run on compact discs, not cartridges.

  • @birdduh

That's like saying a footlocker has more "power" than a breadbox, what you're saying doesn't make any sense. The 64's carts did have less storage capacity than CD,s however on the upside it could access the information on them a shitload faster especially since back then they were still having trouble building devices that could scan a compact disc at a reasonable speed.

If you don't understand how the technology works fine but don't talk out your ass.

  • @AmazingL4rry I apologize for NOT talking out my ass. I indeed DID NOT talk out my ass.

  • "You shall not pass!"

    "Guess again, muthaf**ka!"
