Hi-- I just rented a RE 500 Bullet in Scottsdale, AZ, and had a great week riding it , and making Indian friends at my hotel, since it's now (very expertly) manufactured there. They would stand around talking about it, I'd overhear them & come down to the parking lot. It was a welcome, surprising, happy addition to the trip. As we say here, Ride safe & keep the rubber side down. God bless!
I have an '89 350 Bullet that was a heap of rusty junk when I bought it. That's supposed to be the worst era for build quality, yet i have refurbished it into a stylish, reliable and economical bike. You have to be prepared to get your hands dirty!
i got myself a new enfield last month , they have started selling new versions in indian market luckily i got the older version i love the bike its the third enfield in my family , i would like to say one thing to weed picker if you dont know how to handle these machines this is your problem not the bikes , you are not the only who get these problems but may be you are the worst one = to handle them
BTW There are assured gifts on purchasing Castrol oil for cars and bikes that the dealers may not inform you about so remember to collect them at the time of purchase. Please tell all your friends to collect the same :) Also the scratch card on every promotion pack will make you eligible for a trip to South Africa if you win the lucky draw. Cheers :)
I had nothing but trouble with my enfield! The build quality is bad. It's obvious that the factory standards are poor compared with other motorcycle builders. There's a reason why these bikes are so cheap!
These bikes are colosol pieces of junk!!! The build quality is terrible!!! My enfield was pure trash that I had to push almost everytime that I rode it!!!! I have restored a 67 camaro so it's not from my lack of mechanical knowledge. The problem is that these bikes are lemons!!!! I urge anyone who is considering the purchase of an Enfield to not waste your money!!!! I can not adequately put into words how poor the build quality of these bikes are!!!! Junk, pure junk!!!!
Nein Mallaun - It is a British bike, abandoned by them, but still manufactured in Chennai, India. I have an Electra 350 model with CI engine. It runs like a dream and the thump is magical. Anyways, guess enfields have intelligence of their own and behave badly with the likes of weed-whatever. Again, anyways, nice video Mallaun, when is the next coming up, you have posted this nearly 3 yrs back, mein herr!!
@weedpicker07 what model is yours? i heard dependability depends on which on is purchased. i heard the origional english enfields are great and that the 2010's have made massive improvments. most people ive seen leave comments really like their enfields but i know much of the time india used sub standard means to build these bikes(from my understanding)but im sure there are still great enfields.
@weedpicker07 That's the first person time I've heard anyone with a bad word to say about the ole' bullet. I was planning on getting one in a year or two so I'll have to look into this. Would you recommend that I get one of the older ones that were manufactured in Britain? thanks.
@weedpicker07 Fuck you. Don't blame the Bullet for your shortcomings. If it was a bad bike, it wouldn't be the oldest selling existing bike still in production. And RE wouldn't have put out a declaration saying that any Bullet produced before 1995 will last for 100 years. Fixing a car is very different from fixing a bike. Especially a Bullet. Before you curse a legend, I urge you to come to India and test ride any Bullet sold here.
And, did you know the waiting list for a Royal Enfield in the US is longer than any other production bike? These aren't Honda Elites or " 'busas" that are cranked out like televisions. They're actually a high end bike that is insured in the same category as Triumph, Vespa and Harley-Davidson.
Very nice. We saw the Royal Enfield at the Toronto International Bike show this past weekend. They will be available in Canada later this Spring - I want the Classic 500!
@scob63 In Australia, the late UCE Enfield is a $1000 dearer than the old Bullet, in my opinion, not worth it. I bought my Indian Enfield in 2006 & have had 8 factory built faults within my Classic 500. The worst of them is costing me $1000 plus labour. The first fault appeared at 25kms and the last, the big one at 23,000. All I can say is,,, BUYER BEWARE
Lovely video Markus. Feel your passion for this legendary motorcycle. I learnt how to ride a motorcycle on a 1988 Bullet. My first bike was a Bullet, when I was 18. Went through several other motorcycles since then, but 10 years down the line, I want a Bullet again. All the best on the video!
Hi Markus, I am Royal Enfield fan myself having ridden one for years in India. How do you manage to live with this in Switzerland I wonder? Great Video I must admit.
You have done perfect justice to that beast of a bike, sir. Magnificent video, truly professional. But, i also have to ask you one question. Is an Enfield so easy to manuevure? It's so stable in this video. Some of my friends say that it's a hell of a job to handle it. Great work again. Thanks.
This is the most professional looking riding video I have seen on YouTube. I would like to request even more footage from riders perspective. Well done Mr. Mallaun. Where did you film this?
I just wished to say, that I liked everything about this video. The classic motorcycle it featured. The aesthetical professional shots. The fluid editing style, even the musi was a joy.. (In the case of other videos, I need to click on the mute button at once)
Moreover the L sign, which IMO not stupid, but the opposite. In my youth that was mandatory here as well, and finally the responsible, riding style you have exhibited.
Love the RE Bullet. Gonna get one soon! BTW nice helmet dude!
Im currently riding a Yamaha RX-135. Here in my country we called it Yamaha RXK. They have this in India too rite. I mod it to look vintage. Love vintage bike!
im not sure, you call me asshole and threaten me, is that good for kahrma or that chick with all the arms? like im sikh but I dont call folks asshole and dont you a bloody one is a little too graphic? It could spoil the vindaloo

L stands for learner. This vid comes from Switzerland, where you can drive alone for a limited time without having passed the pratical driving licence test.
The track really compliments the video. And for the bike. You just cant beat a bullet. I possess a 2004, 350cc electra. She takes care of me, than I take care of her. It is heaven. Thanks for the video mate, keep it going.

Nice vid mate, I own a 57, 2000 and I'm building a 600+ 1938 flat tracker, you captured how I feel every time I kick them over minus my fish tail exhaust. LOL, Rock on Man.

Well done on the video Marcus. Looks like this is shot in Switzerland judging by the Registration plate. REs are good, solid bikes. They had a bad period, like many other companies, but they are known to be work-mules.
Simple, low-maintenance, and tough.
I plan to get one some day!
