no disrespect really but i train in sambo and the only thing sambo lacks is the use of the leg triangle choke that brazilians love to use from there back and trap people

sambo doesnt "has some" ground work thats all they work and standing grappling like in judo, fedor doesnt learn elements from bjj cuz he has no bjj coaches or anyone like that, i dont train in bjj but i noticed that one of the elements and tactics that bjj use its falling on ur back and submitting from there

I don't doubt in Aoki's talent, but Fedor pulled off something amazing - who the heck can go like 30+ matches without losing once? That's VERY HARD, especially at heavyweight where the puncher's chance is always the greatest. And even talented fighters lose like 1/10 matches at least, and it's hard - even for a high end fighter - to NOT lose once, even vs a mediocre guy. Consider that lol.

Mel refused to go to the ground and Aoki couldn't take him down, so the ref had to stand them up like 100 times. Standup is as important as ground game and that's why Fedor is the best cuz he's so complete. Aoki on the other hand needs a lot of improvement.
