@shanil857 it is a mod. He rewired the inside of his psp so that the power wire from the usb goes to the battery to charge it.

If you use one wire, i think it only charges in usb mode, but I put two wires connecting to the battery terminals on the psp and it always works.

I've taken my psp completely apart. I mean every last screw and then put it back together blindly. I've also taken my ps3 and my friends ps3 apart to fix them. If you have half a brain you won't screw up. The hard part is modding it

yeah the other 4 pins are data, and the first one is power, which was being wasted, when like 5 volts come in over the USB cable like charging ipods :P the only downside is, no USB Camera or Navigation, but the camera = 1.3 megapixels (sucks) and navigation is only for japan at the moment :O If you do a SOLDERLESS USB charge mod, you can always remove it and you don't have to buy any equipment :D

yeah, open up psp, take out the motherboard, get some thin wire ( I suggest like 30 gauge from radio shack ) then run from the first pin, which is power (from left to right) on the back side, solder it OR run through the left side, back around twist tight and run over the board to the battery terminal, if you HAVE the powerfuse just put it at the LEFT (+) prong on the white motherboard AC adapter. Think about it IPods charge with USB, it transfers electric, it was being wasted. :P
