Just so you know, Datev, when I posted that list of foods that shouldn't be fed to dogs I wasn't trying to be mean or rude in any way. Only a few of those foods were actually toxic. The rest would just give them REALLY bad indigestion. Since Roxie is on the older side she will probably feel the indigestion even worse now. That was probably what was wrong with her. Just please stop feeding her the prepared people food. Most fresh foods are fine for her. Onions and grapes/raisins are toxic.

Aw, my heart dropped when I saw you crying. :\ I get what you feel, I was always worrying about my dog, too, when I first got her, especially since they can't tell us exactly what they're feeling, and I'm a huge softy when it comes to someone I love in pain. But it's always best, and always safe, to just take them to the vet because ultimately, they're the ones who'll find out what's wrong. Hope Roxy feels better, & you, too ! :)

maybe roxy is allergic to something in her food - my dobermann had similar problems. i had to stop feeding industrial dog food and put him on a rice/meat/vegetables diet. and NEVER feed him onions or chocolate, this two are poisonous to dogs!

If Roxie gets treats with rawhide that may be the problem. Small dogs have trouble digesting that. I have a Shih Tzu named Cowboy Tom and that caused him trouble also.

Roxy probably just has a stomach ache from all the human food she eats. However, I know how it is when a pet is in pain, my cat last year suffered with cancer and died at a very young age. Get well Roxy!

When it comes to animals.. you have to get them to the vet as soon as possible. Waiting it out.. could throw off any chances of her getting better, if she is really sick. I know vets are expensive.. but, not taking her.. you could lose her. I do hope she will be okay. <3

have you noticed if she's able to go to the bathroom? she might not be able to pee/poop... my sister's maltese and once went to the vet for a urinary tract infection (we think someone was 'cleaning' off the mess after she went to the bathroom and it got infected) also happened to my chow mix (not sure why for her though), or she could be constipated. Either one could explain bloating (just b/c they squat doesn't mean they went, check if wet). Vet would be the best thing to do, can do tests...

To keep from crying while cutting onions just put a match stick in your mouth chew on it as if you were with a toothpick do not put the part that has the red tip in your mouth just the wood part and it really does help. (Experience) Culinary arts.

No offense and not to seem like an ass, but dogs have an average lifespan of 10 years. It's a miracle if a dog live past that and still move like it's healthy but don't be surprised if it suddenly falls ill to a high degree.

I wouldn't listen to all the comments saying what is wrong with Roxie, they are all different perspectives and any of them could be right or wrong. I would recommend just wishing Roxie well and not trying to diagnose her (even if you have experience).

We all hope she feels better and try to cheer up Datev, I have a 15 year old dog and I know it's hard when something is wrong. But I know at least in my case every time it has turned out for the better if you just stay positive. :)

Roxy may have a uterine infection (a bloated abdomen is a symptom) or a liver problem and shes most likely barking because of the discomfort. The last thing i want to do is make you scared but take her to the vet asap! Just to be safe and sure. Hope you see this Datev!!
