Yes, I really was glad to see a lady bug. We have had some bees too, so that is all good for us. I don't know that the bags will smell bad...they are just compost on steroids. LOL I will let you know when I open them up.
You know lady bugs kill a lot of pests like potato beetles and aphids. they are great to have as an ally. those bag are gonna smell bad I'm sure. So I'm sticking with compost..plus I just love composting!
