The virture of this philosophy is Toukon, which can be tanslated to fighting spirit or fighting soul. Japanese audiences do not put importance on winning/losing but how the wrestler shows his spirits, soul, emotion as well as his wrestling skills. Faireness and respecting to the opponent are important as much as these.

Great promo. Fairly sadistic. I wanna know what he was looking at, but I liked that he didn't stare at the camera.
On what happened, kayfabe-wise: it could be that he simply got too into the mind game of undoing Tiger Mask's mask. Either way, he won.
