@MrGSWAGG92 If you don't know by now, there is 1 sure fire way to get rid of a yellow jacket nest. If they are in a small hole in your yard, wait until after dark when they are all in the hole. Dump about 5 ounces of gasoline in the hole and light it. It will kill every damn one of them. I've prolly burned out 40 nests of them like that in my life. Some people say you don't even have to light the gas, I always do though. I have a nest right now under a pine tree I can't get to.
@Bones1977ify he intentionally spelled "fitty". I think he made referance to Southparks Chef character's parents. his parents once had a problem with the lockness monster that kept asking them to give him $ free fitty. quote: "I need about free fitty", thus, i believe, the expansion: "3 thousand and fitty" :D. [sry if my grammar is bad. i'm foreign]
damn.,....you need a flame thrower to take out that nest...no way will conventional tactics work...get a can or two of wasp spray and light it...make airisol flamethrowers...haha
If you ever have a problem like this you could take them out with dish washing detergent and water in a sprayer. Believe it or not the soapy water will kill them off because it suffocates them.
Wait untill night then light a road flare and shove it in their hole,, that will work everytime if the flames don,t get em the very toxic smoke from a road flare will also do all of in very fast.
about 5 years ago these little fucks decided to build there hive around my house. my brother thought it was funny and threw a football at it while i was getthing closer to check it out. anyways, i was stung like 28 times and was taken to the hospital. We still laugh about it til this day but what could of been more funny if i would have press charges on his stupid ass. lol.
Pour motoroil into the nest. Stay outta the way though. This will render the nest unusable for the wasps and make tem move elsewhere. This nest has some size though! lol!
those little basterds, what they lack in size, they make up in numbers! i've stepped on or near their fucking underground ambush nests while hunting, did the 100 yard dash through brush like a rocket propelled bulldozer!
thats alot of bees. i would cover the area with black powder at night and then ignite it during the day when theyre swarming like that too take out a good amount of them so they will be more managable for spraying
Hmm weaponry for this job : c4 frag flamethrower dynamyte a 5inch mortar firework and a couple gallons of gasoline napalm with a flash powder center outa do the trick =)
Leave it alone. They are living their lives, you live yours. They have a useful place in this world. You do not. And no one on this planet yet has used the words 'shear' and sheer' correctly.
While it is clear that transdoles comments are judgmental, lacking intelligence, thought and research suffice it to say for all others- DO not let yellow jackets surprise your family and hurt or kill someone, home owners claims it is your responsibility to be aware of your property. Do look up the word shear- "to subject to a shear force" so you are not as foolish and tragically opinionated as transdole, who is offering a mouth breathers approach of opinion rather than fact or good advice.
Here's an idea: Toss a couple cans of wasp killer at the nest. From a distance, shoot the can with any hunting rifle or handgun. Watch the devastation.
in the darkness, get a long long pole and tape a lit lighter on the end. Quickly light the bottom of the nest and clear the area quickly. the dry paper nest will engulf in flames quite rapidly :)
Three years ago, while climbing up a rock face beside a river, I thought there was a path at the top of the embankment. To free a hand I tossed my bag ahead .. and guess where it landed.
i hate the Quicktime format in digital cameras id go with an aiptek DV4500 or actually id strongly reccommend the Canon A560 digital camera the videos are in AVI format, NO QUICKTIME and the videos can be edited together with windows movie maker i highly reccommend this camera as for the yellow jackets you could use a flamethrower or you can hang bug zappers near the nests
I once messed with a small in-ground yellow jacket's nest when I was like 8 years old by dropping a big clump of mud down the hole. Now I live with an intense fear of wasps.
Yes it was a massive nest; it had approximately 10 sq ft of subterranean nest incorporated into the dead trees trunk and had an above ground nest about the size of a large man spread out 12" high. The combs were in layers.I eventually got rid of this nest and its occupants with concentrated gas canisters after dark only! One has to be vigilant when dealing with these (repeated treatments)and very careful as a yellow jacket nest is known to kill any animal wandering into its space.
what do you think what happened when i made the mistake of throwing a rock right into the nest? had to evacuate everyone in a 300' radius. the exterminators thought they killed all of them right?? NOT!! they came back.
a few weeks later, i hung 3 bug zappers around the nest. if one bee started attacking the zapper, then all of them tried = piles of DEAD bees ;)

gasoline + match. burn down the whole damn tree line. (or just wait until winter then detroy the nest then.)
21evilgrizz 2 years ago
Or even better - gasoline without a match. Even from a garden pressurized sprayer if the materials can handle it.
The gases from the gasoline will kill them pretty quick, and the fumes will disperse with the wind.
