  • This is good, you have a tendency to rock back and forth with your head and shaking it a lot, but it was pretty good :)

  • You were my inspiration for drama class!(: I rocked it!! Thanks(:

  • @NotEasyToLove23 You're welcome. I'm glad I inspired you! :)

  • I may do this monologue for my acting class.

  • I may do this monologue for my acting class.

  • I have to play Andy in this play -_- I have never done anything theatrical and all ive seen is "Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Repo! The Genetic Opera". Having said that, I like your version xD

  • @make1up726 Thanks! :)

  • I had to do this monologue for my final in theatre.. i did exactly this!! Weird!

  • lolololol!!!! I LOVE UR VERSION!!

  • @brianab55 Thanks! :)

  • Favorite version on YouTube ! Good Job!

  • @XoXFutureStarXoX Thank you! :)

  • I'd try to raise the stakes. Also I wouldn't use this monologue for an audition. Casting directors want to hear YOUR voice. Not a fake accent. I wouldn't use accents for auditions. Also, this is one of the most overdone monologues in the history of comedy.

  • @Spongemagic is it really over done? because Im going crazy trying to find a modern comedic monologue for an audition of a drama school.. could this be done with neutral accent?

  • @sodapopsonia Almost any "Overdone Monologue" List you find will have this on it. Auditions are all about being memorable (not in a bad way either). Judges have seen this one so many times (more likely than not) that no matter what you do to it, it won't create much interest. I'd keep looking. Walter Wykes, Christopher Durang (watch out, he has lots of overdone ones) and Neil Simon are all great playwrights to look at.

  • @sodapopsonia I'm doing this exact same one without an accent and instead of being polite whhile I say it, I'm freakied out because I'm picturing him in his underwear on my bed and he just kinda snuck in there, like a creeper....

  • when doing this THINK SOUTHERN! what southerns do? (cadence is different, accent is a bit off) southern hospitality, 'be sweet'. like others who have this on youtube add depth to the character to your performance. also (more of a pet peeve for myself) dont lean in to the camera so much (this is especially seen more towards the end)

  • eehh. cheeesssy.

  • ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i dont rly like it..:/

  • This is pretty good, but i feel you missed the comedic side to it...

  • she is, at heart a "southern belle"...so you have got to say all of this while trying to stay "sweet"...try holding back the anger...it should be done with one of those gritting your teeth smiles...good luck..:)

  • the accent was reallt sweet i loved that :) but heres a tip: u gotta think about levels in your pieces that u are doing, u have to kinda build and decay. think about where u might get a little bit more angry with him and where u might be a little more gentle. i loved u ending tho very nice :) always have a good ending and certainly did that lol! good job tho

  • Good job! I just posted a monologue of me doing this too!

  • @heavensmilkyway

    Thank you. :)

  • i really wanted to do this monologue for an audition for college, i thought you were great and your accent and perspective on character helped me a lot, thank you :)

  • @marshmellowdream

    Thank you. :)

  • You're good but you shake your head way too much.

  • I have to do this monologue for my drama class... Not gonna lie to you, your accent isnt the best, but id give u a 7 out of 10

  • good job. i have 2 do this monologue for skool, and u helped me understand it better, and helped me do it right!!! thanx! :)

  • great southern accent

  • ..you did good with the memorization but you didn't add charm to the character. you have to remember its a comedy and there's a reason this man likes you so much. so add a more personable touch to your character . but overall average.

  • Your good, but the one thing i noticed was that you keep rocking back and forth and back and forth, it got really distracting.

  • Well done.

  • wow i think ur totally amazing i am 13 do u kno any good monolouges i culd use

  • Thank you :). I don't know what kind you'd want. It's easy to find good monologues by using google or going to Samuel French bookstore. Hope that helps. :)

  • sweet!! thanks for doing this monologue!!! i have to do it in my acting class and im not very good at the accent.. but this helped alot!! ^___^ yay!

  • lol wow you have such a great fake accent.

i think you could make it.

    your super beautiful...

and have very pretty features and hair.

  • You're definitely beautiful on camera and you probably would be right for the part but I would definitely use this monologue as a back up in case a casting director or a director asks you if you have any more monologues, it's not a great monologue, it doesn't showcase your talent enough. Just remember if you insist on doing Neil Simon, don't play it for laughs, play it as real-life.

  • Thanks for the advice. I agree that it's not the best monologue. I will put more up soon!

  • Cool. You should. Good for you. I found you by accident when I was looking for footage from The Goodbye Girl so it was a nice treat. Break a leg!

  • this was very good

but it is supposed to be a comedy.

  • You perform this very well....

I have to do this tomorrow for English class, and this helps me understand my part better.

  • I have to perform this tomorrow for my drama class and I didn't know where to begin with facial expressions and stuff until now...Thank you so much!!!!! :DDDD

  • amazingggg<3

im a theatre major & this is my monologue.

  • I see a lotta negative about the performance. Who'd hit it, though?

  • I have to do this same monologue for my theatre appreciation class next week. I'm not sure where to begin, so thanks for the help!

  • You're welcome. :)

  • that sucks. You didnt have an accent. Whatev...you didnt help me at all

  • Help you with what? I'm not trying to help anyone in this video except myself. :)

  • hi Shannah! Pretty good job, just two things I noticed. The delivery of the list of things you want him to stop is good, however the pauses in-between each item make it sound less empassioned and more like a reading. Also, be careful of the little headshakes. Many ppl throw those in at inappropriate times because it "seems" they should be doing something. Sometimes less is more. Keep up the good work!

  • i can say i love the fact that CAT hardly move at -all. I like the way that you are form LA and did a decent southern accent. That's hard to do on the west coast. ;) the beats could use some work, othe rthan that, nice

  • where the passion? i dont buy it. keep practing

  • what's with the random emphasis on canned? "especially CANNED goods" and the accent was getting a little forrest gump by the last minute.

  • I emphasised "canned" because the character doesn't trust that they weren't tampered with. I agree that the accent needs working on... but the girl is supposed to be from Arkansas. :)

  • great variation in tone and accent. one thing i didn't like was how you kept bringing your face close to the camera. seems very aggressive.

  • Well, the monologue's about a girl who's trying to get some guy to stop stalking her, so I thought it was only right to be a bit aggressive. :)
