if your wondering why Oedipus is wearing a suit, it is because instead of being historically accurate, they are being symbolic. if it was historically accurate, he would be wearing robes, but by having him in a suit, the modern audience can identify him as having power and being the king.

Can somebody summarize what Oedipus is saying from 3:35-5:07. He talks too fast for me to understand all of it. I'm a little confused. Can someone help me?
Everyone knows Mystics and seeing the future is real right? I can't give you the book on how to do this because I know it to be an abomination unto our (the) God. But I can say that if you study history enough you sure learn a lot of neat stuff that most people are just plain ignorant to. Have fun, study history.
OH MY GAWD!!!! I adore Teiresias. I loved the way he spoke from 8:00 to 9:02.. I am just reading this for school.. THX so much for putting this here, I really needed it....
@TheShwayze Sure the dress culture is really messed up, but in accordance to my English literature teacher, this play was actually the closest to come to the original writing.
@adampopov1987 Well it is a little distracting. Give 'em a break. However, his acting is great so it doesn't matter what he wears once you follow his story.
Man its very interesting. Tiresias is very weird but he knows the future. Opedius better wake up and try to remember what he did instead of pretending like he don't know.
I thought the point of the modern clothes was that it's imagining if Thrace had been based in a Victorian type of era.

I like the look of the incarnation of Oedipus. It reminds me of the modernization of Richard III with Ian McKellan.

I personally think the suit makes him look really cool.

It's fantastic !
Sophocles' understanding of human condition is maybe greater than that of many great philosophers.
I cannot stop to see that piece, especially that part.
Great actors also !
Thanks You!

It's themes are timeless. I can't believe it has held it so well over time since 500 BC. Amazing!
