Spent half a year in Cebu and on Mactan recently. Mactan could be a beautiful as it was 25 years ago. Alas, population pressure has taken its toll and informal settlements (aka squatter villages) have taken up a lot of space along the roads and along the access roads to admittedly beautiful resorts. My impression is that local government done little to avoid Mactan becoming a rather unsightly island.Pity.

@concertmaster1000 I agree... years ago it was a "haven"... now it's just a "have been"... Im a Cebuano and I pity how the coral reef there just died because of over population and illegal activities...

i wanna see the beauty of cebu, cause me and my friend have a plan to visit ASEAN countries...

after we visited bali and lombok, then we have another big dream...

we wanna make the footprints in all of ASEAN country...

mmmm, not all maybe...

but for the real, we will visit thailand, philippines, vietnam, and cambodia...

i know how beauty those country is...

especially the beaches and the culture...
