8 minutes and not a single real review of the system. More like a glorified unboxing. The wonderswan has tons of great games for it and I prefer its look and sound.
it hilarious how americans love to touch exotic boxes with their hands while making "tap tap tap" noices with their fingers. salad fingers style.. ahah its very funny.
The only other comment to have on this is the Wonderswan Color had, at least in my opinion a strange or bad design flaw. They tinted the screen blue, all of them. Yet if you emulate the games or play them on wonderswan crystal (which I do have as well) the color is much more clear/vibrant due to it not all trying to be leaned towards blue. Why did they do this, I have no idea.
Guilty Gears!!! Is on this! Best reason to get this Its also probably the best GG game on a handheld... That and the style of it is verynice it's mostly in english.... do a bit ,=more reasearch buddy.
@MegaBlue3 Yep it's true through the link port on the side it has two ways to connect. With Digital Monsters Ver. Wonderswan it came with an adaptor that snapped on there to connect a link piece to connet to the two prongs of metal on digivices used for battles, to link them for games. The second way is a straight link cable. Connect a link cable to a wonderswan and on the D3/D-Ark (don't remember if the D-Scanner had one) but push the slot open and connect to use it. Yep
this may sound wierd, but back in the late 90's and early 2000's, there was a chain of departments stores, known as Ames. Not sure if it was a national one or not, but anyways... i remember browsing the electronics section (which was pretty shitty) and seeing one of these in the display case. the worker had said it was because of a botched order, and since they were going under, they decided to sell them for something like $75 and a couple games . didnt buy it and now kicking myself in the ass.
The reviewer is kind of an idiot ("I suppose they speak Japanese in Japan") but he talks fast so he gives an illusion of moderate eloquence. But yeah, this system isn't nearly as interesting as the Neo Geo PC. A couple of old FF games isn't going to sway me, but the single battery is pretty sweet. Makes the original GBA look like the freaking PS2 though, despite how shitty the backlight-less GBA was as well.
The only thing that sucked about the Wonderswan was that there was no Pac-Man game. It was their last console & they didn't even feature their mascot on it.
this was a bad review. it took you 6 minutes into an 8 minute review to even power on the damn thing, and you never showed us any gameplay or graphics.
I bought the original WonderSwan for no game other than the Klonoa game released on it. The game was REALLY fun, and cost me about twice as much as the WonderSwan did.
I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't mention the reason as to why there were both the x and y sets of buttons. For people who don't know this, a number of games require you to turn the handheld sideways to play. This gives you access to the same controls, but a different screen shape.
The Port on the side was also used to connect to a D3 digivice toy from digimon season three i have the digivice that this connects to but i dont have the wonderswan
just skip it?!?! wth. u cant just base ur opinion off one game that u cant even play..there are some pretty good games on the WSC. maybe u shouldve looked online to see what "better" game u coulve got. u have to realize this was a japan domestic product so obviously it wasnt aimed for the americans.
i love my wonderswan color..and i'm sure those out there who have one appreciate it too even with its draw backs
If you can get one of the complete Final Fantasy bundles in excellent or mint condition, it might be cool to get one. That assumes that the price is good. If not, I agree, this is not a necessary system.

lol I have terrors 2 its awesome I got it for a fiver, the little trading card was a gift thing as its ties in with the japanese film release of the terrors series
i always wanted one of these when i was in 4th grade but then i didnt get one later on in 5th grade i got a gameboy color instead and then i got a ds and a psp phat in 7th grade ds lite and in 8th grade and a psp slim from japan this year
this handheld could have been very versatile. It could have played with the standard direction+2 button setup, or it could have been turn on it's side and played longways with 8 buttons. That'd make for an awesome portable shooter title. Ikaruga handheld, anyone?
A brick and mortar store can be just about any type of store. It's called a brick and mortar store because, typically, it's made of brick and mortar. In this case, he's simply referring to a local store that would sell video games. Some of them carry imports. In my case, there's a store called The Exchange, but I believe that they're only in Pennsylvania (maybe Ohio, as well). You'll need to ask around or search on your own to find out if there's a similar store near you.
Some brick and mortar stores will carry imports, but other than that, the internet's all you got. And even if you don't buy it off of the internet, the brick and mortar stores will charge nearly 300% of what you can find on the web.
