  • My country does not have these types of classes because we have never needed them. If anyone is homophobic and shows it then that person will be bullied :)

  • @Chamath5a: Get out of the 1970s. Homosexuality is no longer considered a mental disease.

  • THE SLUR OF "HOMOPHOBIA" IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE.

''Homophobia'' has never been listed as a disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Rather it is a disrespectful, pejorative, non-scientific, non-medical word invented to attack and incite violence against all who express disagreement with aberrosexualism or biologically aberrant sexual behavior.

  • @Aberrosexualismo fortunately in the civilized western world at least your insane views are in the minority, albeit barely in some places

  • THE SLUR OF "HOMOPHOBIA" IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE.

“Homophobe” is a hate-loaded slur used by the partisans of the anti-Life, antisocial Aberrosexualist ideology to unjustly discriminate, stigmatize, demean, hurt and offend everyone who disagrees with their extremist ideology and irrational agenda. This slur is as despicable as any other ethnic, racial or sexist slur. It has no place in civil, respectable public discourse and it should be understood that its use is never acceptable. Never!

  • @Kii3DA

im also 11 and gay (bisexual actually) but if you think about it those people didn't accept you for who you are but for who they thought you were

  • i dont think american needs it, theyr pretty comfortable with gays...

and there is always gonna be some people who hate gay people, no matter if its UK, America or whatever country

  • I know. there are hardly any programs that I can find that are based here in America rather than in the UK, where most of them are based

  • i really wish we had programs like this in america....

  • well maby you could write to the president and ask for one of get a program started of your own ^^

i'm 11 and i have already writen to the goverment about homophobia because when i told my best friend for 5 years that i was gay she then started to hate me, and it got to the point where she broke my ribs and the hole school new (1100 people knew my secret.) so it dosent matter what age your are you could always try and do somethink ^^

  • @Kii3DA the problem is that the religious will raise hell to have this program in their schools. just as they raise hell for anything else. it would never get put through.

  • you have a point but why is it the the religious can have what they want a we can't? we all have different opinons but most of us can grasp what right and wrong are ^^ i trying to make a difference in my school and i have found it's more easyer to aim at prejudict in genral, people seem to take it in a less offensive way because every person has been bullied once in there life and of corse they want it to stop, if we talk about prejudict it covers all kinds of abuse, do you see what i'm saying?

  • @Kii3DA the reason that the religious can have what we want and we cant is because for example with prop 8 in california, the latter day saints contributed so much more than we could ever accomplish. that put more broadcasting, more newsletters, fliers, signs out there. unfortunately a good majority of the US is of some religion, so they would rather support people in office to make their decisions who are of some religion, even if it is not theirs.

  • &people who come up with bills, pass laws and such, most judge what is right and wrong based on their religious beliefs. Bush was all for a federal ban on gay marriage because he wanted to protect the 'sanctity' of marriage. 'sanctity' means holy, so he wants to protect the religious marriage. then he also states he makes his political choices from the values of his upbringing-that of which was a christian based narrow mindedness. so bush could have vetoed any bill based on his religious views

  • @Kii3DA Good on you for trying to make a difference in your school. I do see what you're saying. The thing is though that my experience is that a lot of people will be all, "Prejudice is bad! No more prejudice!" with most victimised groups, but then make an exception to their usual rule for one particular group. That's why prejudice against each group needs to be tackled separately as well in a conversation on overall prejudice.
