Man, I used to listen to this shit soooooo much. Does anybody else get nostalgic when listening to old shit like this? I do. @kedord No album in history...? That's a bit of an overstatement. Bone Thugs N Harmony's "E. 99 Eternal" and GZA's /Wu Tang Clan's "Liquid Swords" are both better than Doggystyle in that regard. It was a great album and all but I think your overrating it a bit. To each his own though.

@kedordu E99 had a hit song... that's all you can say about it. It popularized speed rapping and singing in hip hop. The album (or Bone Thugs specifically) had a heavy influence on rap, RnB, and pop from the moment of release. After that album, who didn't try to imitate that flow in one way or another? As for Liquid Swords, it added on to the level of influence Wu Tang had after 36 Chambers. Bone and Wu Tang changed hip hop.

@kedordu My bad, helped* popularize singing. As for speed rapping, no; Bone was definitely at the helm of that movement. Twista had a fair bit of buzz going but Bone came in and ran with it. Daz efx and Twista combined have never reached the level of fame/influence as Bone had in it's prime.
