  • This is my fav old Hindi film song with Nutan!

  • ..to prove ourselves and to fight the bad inside of us. That is true jihaad. To fight WITHIN yourself because no bad is worse than what´s inside you.

Oops! Sorry the previous post was supposed to say "FIND" and not FING lolz!

So anyway, some Muslims say music is completely forbidden. I say, if I may, that it depends on what for and how you use it. Look at gospel and qawwali. And think. Look at the whirling dervishes. And think.

Being Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, Jew....

  • read Surah Luqman, Ayat 6...

    then read

Al Bukhari Vol 7. Hadith No. 494B

it tells you music is haraam and Allah swt turns the ones who say its halal into pigs & monkeys until the day of judgement.

    :)

  • Oh I will inshallah. But one question to you little sister...if music is so haram, then what are you doing here, watching this video which not only contains music but also dancing?

  • @Khwaab

lol tru.. i hate it wen people say things like that when they arent even ryt themselves,. i hate ppl that judge others

  • @Khwaab

haram must be viewed so you know what to not do!!!

  • @AlexanderaCherie we are not MUSLIMS ,idiot .any art form is ibadaat for us .if it is haram what are you doing here .PERVERT .

  • @prettypinky100 Someone was talking about Muslims I can't remember where as it was ages ago. But I am a woman and not perving... No need for insults, I watched it because I am an EX DANCER before I practiced Islam.

  • @AlexanderaCherie saroj khan was a hindu who learnt indian classical dance and still dances after marrying and converting to muslim .her son is also a choreographer .in hinduism all art forms are ibadaat for us especially classical.we are encouraged to learn at least some art form wether it is music ,dance writing etc .muslims always call an indian woman who dances ,a slut .they dont understand our religious differences .we are not muslims and have a different take on life .

  • @prettypinky100 No I get that, I studied Hinduism while I was finding religion, I was replying Khwaab in the thing on Islam.

Forgive me if I insulted you.

I get tired of Muslim people attacking other's religions , it's really disgusting and as a convert I just go wtf. I love dance and I love indian dance that's why I watch Saroj's stuff she's really awsome

  • @AlexanderaCherie thanks for understanding .i am tired of insults from non hindus .may god bless you .take care .bye .

  • @AlexanderaCherie all non muslim cultures all over the world dance but pakistanis attack us in our indian clips always .they fail to understand we are not muslims .then beyonce ,madonna are allwhores too .i wrote so much only for information and not as insult .take care .bye.

  • @AlexanderaCherie [31:6] Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of GOD without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution

What has music to do with it?? It is more to create mischief, trouble, lies etc with talk.

  • @AlexanderaCherie Another translation: And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah’s way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. This verse has nothing to do with music or singing :)

  • wat does nigaho mean

  • Hey mr......Nigah is the singular form of gaze and nigaahen the plural.

About your comments....I suggest you read my posts carefully once again. You´ve clearly misunderstood them. Muhammad pbuh didn´t give any orders and Saudi Arabia isn´t the home of Islam. For a Muslim, all the worls, all of Allah´s swt creation is the home of Islam. Remember that Islam came to a place and time of "Jahiliyya" which means they were like savages, jaahil in Urdu.

  • Jahiliyya time was when music was being used for vulgar dancing, drinking and mistreating women. In other words, pretty much like today. HOWEVER that doesn´t mean music in itself is bad. It´s just like the internet....you can use it for research of good things or you can watch really soul destroying things all day. Although we ppl would like to shut our eyes away from the fact that WE are responsible for our actions, how we DECIDE to use things, we´ll never be able to........

  • ...able to shut the "eyes of our soul". So the soul suffers from the bad actions of our body and mind. And then all of a sudden we wonder how it can hurt so much without being ill in the body or mind.

As for countries with Muslim majorities...nobody is claiming that bad things don´t happen there. Nobody ever has. Good and bad is why we´re here in the first place. And we´re supposed to fing our own way. If everything was good, we´d be put straight in Jannah/Paradise. We´re here to...

  • ..or anything else, does NOT mean you´re perfect. It actually means you´re TRYING to reach perfection. And believe me, it´s a hard hard job!

And whatever you claim to be (Muslim or whatever), you´ll never get away from you own responsibility. If we all just concentrated on our OWN SOUL we´d never waste time on what others do or be stupid and judge them. We´d know that our own self is in a critical state itself.

My sincerest salaam/peace to you! Khush raho!

  • LOL i memorized this dance too but saroj does it a bit different than the girls i noticed

  • i wish the performance was longer

  • i absolutely ♥ their outfits.

  • i can do this whole dance memorized thats how many times i watched this great dance!

  • wow shabaaaaaaash aunty

  • lol!

  • their outfits are awsome

  • wow...girls are awesome

  • I don't understand what she said about the thing that the girls put on their hair. Why was it wrong to do so?

  • i think that ornament is worn by prostitutes, but i might be wrong cause i don't really understand hindi :P

  • yeah your right.. mujra is the place where prostitutes have their dances....

  • ..probably have asked them to put on the traditional "topis"/hats with a feather in the middle. That´s how the Qawwals (singers) would dress up. And the dupatta/veil would also have been worn in a way that it covered almost all of the upper bodyparts. Hope that helped my friend...

  • @chelidon Well from what I've observed in indian movies..mujra/qawwali dancers wear them..and theyre usually classy prostitutes. However, I've seen many girls in real life wear them for dance performances, and weddings., so im not too sure. but i really like those ornaments and im actually trying to find some nice ones for a dance recital =P

  • Well to be honest, there´s a huge diff between Qawwali and Mujra/Courtdance. I think that´s why she pointed it out. You see, Qawwali should, if one has respect, not be danced to cause that music is only in praise of Allah swt and the Prophet pbuh. However, Bollywood has since long taken on the musicstyle of Qawwali and made it into "sweet fight/teasing"-music between the boys and girls in a gathering.

If the girls though, had taken the tips of Saroj before dressing up, she would probably..

  • if muhammad ordered that music should only be used to praise Allah then I suggest you look at 'm3alaya' on youtube. This is done in saudi arabia, the home of islam and theres not much praising on allah happening there.

  • hey can you tell me what date this episode aired?

or can you let me know where I can find the whole episode?

    thanks

  • Saroj is so mean and disrespectfult to her student dancers. She's so scornful..gosh. But I like the dances...
