  • still a beauty..

  • It should be a sin - if not a crime - to neglect that beautiful machine! Fly her, at least run her up more than once a year.

  • what a cool airplane.... what year was it built? ....whats its range?....man, if it were mine id want to fly the coastline to zihuatanejo...or costa rica...or......

  • ya i see the big puddle of oil from you pulling it thru and hitting the starter before it cranked up

  • Impresionante el sonido de ese motor radial!!!

  • I had an '89 Ponnitak Bonneville that started up like that one time... Didn't shut it off until I got it to the junkyard. Not normal for a 3800. Beautiful in a R985. Keep it flyin'.

  • One of the most beautiful airplanes to ever grace the skies!

  • What a beautiful lady! How can you stay so long away from her?

  • I pulled it thru by hand about 30 blades before I climbed in in order to rid the lower cylinders of oil.

  • leave him alone hes lubricating the bottom of the plane!!!!! lol!!!

  • So, quick question, did you turn it over with the ignition off by hand first? My father worked on R-1340, R-2600's and R-3350's in the Air Force in the early 1950's and has stated repeatedly that after they sit a while it was essential to turn them over by hand to A) get the top cylinders lubricated and b) pump out some of the oil the would pool in in the bottom cylinders.

  • If it aint round, it make no sound!

  • I love the Staggerwing, that airframe with the radial engine... PERFECT MATCH!!!

  • Chuck Norris would rock that radial!

  • Is there any chance that this is based at PTW?

  • Woo hoo! That's the smell of victory!

  • Beautiful aircraft. Love the sound of a radial engine.

  • What do you mean a mess, she was very lady like,, nice vid.

  • did the os2u kingfisher have a r-985?

  • Wow, she's beautiful!

  • WOW....Beautiful classic!!!!

  • Lolz, Red plane. red car, red shirt! ANyway, I would like to know how much these aircraft cost, and if there are any in British Columbia. Someone answer, because i would like to know!

    radial engine rules

  • Very nice plane...all things that sit a while do that ... gotta clear out the junk in the truck...just hope you had no leaks or anything from dry seals and such.....my dad owned a luscombe 8a for a while and we went all over in it. Does is fly nice? Handle well?....whats your normal cruise? The only one of these I got to see in realtime was a nice yellow one with the stripes down the side in white.....your red and black one is a good choice in color..Cheers!

  • Thanks! I love this sound.

  • Amazing, thanks for sharing it with us.

  • Ah, well a radial engine at it's best, for it sitting so long it started up really smooth actually, they usually are much more bitchy.

  • Rofl sounds like your making popcorn in the beggining xD

  • OH YANKEE THAT!!!!!!!!!

  • was that the pemberton's staggerwing?

  • No it is not.

  • Nice staggerwing
