really... interesting. I thought she had great control in this performance. Some of her songs (namely the Show Must Go On) I would agree that it was the wrong song. Also, I think you under-estimate her range by a tad. I've heard her hit higher notes. Lastly... scream? I'm not sure where that came from. She has a harsher voice, but I don't think she screamed at any points.I think her biggest problem was actually singing it too low so she could try to power the high notes and the lack of emotion.

everyone who sings this song on Idol sound like they're struggle. Kelly, Leona, the girl who sings Ken Lee:p even if they can hit the high notes in the song, they struggle alot with the verse.. Kelly is stressed, Leona whispers... this girl sounds like a guy.. Mariah does it like nothing, and she can give anyone chills without turning up the pitch at the end

Well, calling a reality T.V. show rigged is a bit dubious. You are cast and remain "at the pleasure of the shows producers" would be a more apt way of putting it. The twin goals are television ratings and, secondly, to bring a marketable talent to Sony/BMG. Anyone who attended Idols live could see that Syesha was not the third most popular in the cast, so her finishing position is dubious at best.

Kelly's AI performances of this song were pretty much a mess, honestly she is way overrated basically for two reasons, one, because Sony/BMG promoted her up the wazoo and, two, the Idol groupies needed someone to worship. Most of them have moved on to Saint Carrie Underwood at this point anyway and I doubt Sony/BMG is going to be spending any serious money on Kelly Clarkson ever again and her fan base is contracting.

Kelly has all kinds of pitch and vibrato issues on this song and if you hear her talk after you know why her voice is hoarse.

Conversely, Carly is rock solid with a her pitch and breath support. I honestly think that the vast majority of American Idol fans have so much emotional baggage invested in Idol No. 1 Ms Clarkson that they don't have ears to hear a better version. Well, either that or Idol draws deaf idiots like a cow pie draws flies. I fairly confident in the former though.
