  • that is the x box version , nothing like the real deal (much harder)

  • Working at Modells in East Meadow, getting ready to graduate HS and burnt out at lunchtime with everyone getting therapy on Robotron. Good Times. A while back my son burnt me a Robotron disc (MAME) and it works great! Thanks Mikey

  • Peace, and Blessings to you, and yours. Re: Musickalfiend. In response to your question, yes this is the original version. After one amasses 9,999,999 points, the game goes back to the first screen you started from when you dropped your quarter in. Your game will continue with the normal screens, however, the skill level will have been upped several notches. I started playing Robotron in 1984, by 1988, I had mastered the game. My High Score? 10, 000,000,1061 and about 350 something screens/One

  • I remember going way past this level from the looks, but it was dual player and the screen was absolutly full of robots. We use to get an audience of about 10-15 people at the Bird Cage Walk in Fair Oaks CA near Sunrise Mall. Many times you couldn't even see out Avatar but we would come out the other side alive still. We rarely played solo, it was too fun for us dual. We'd usually play for about two hours on a single game.

  • I remember I managed to reach this high of a score only once in a 24-hour arcade. Started at about 1 AM and finished at about 5:30 AM. I could barely move my fingers when it was all said and done.

  • Of all the  games chained outside the optimo in brooklyn where i played these games back in the 80's, this one ALWAYS had the most half drank soda bottles on top of it and a trillion cigarette butts all around it, usually found keys on the game cause people were so burnt out from playing it they'ld forget their own names.. good times :}}

  • I use to pay this as a teenager in New york, I was considered one of the best in the world at that time. i would play in queens on hillside ave. at pizza parlors, bodegas and a optimo cigar store on 179th in hillside. I played this other kid, his game ended after 10 minutes, when he got back after school i was still playing that same game,.lol It is a great game , but the screen will go out and reset all over if you punish it with your superior skill set. if you can afford it buy it.. • @pollution2000

spoken like such a slandering new yorker pos ;)

NYC sucks- 2nd city rules... I'd still like to see a solid game that was developed in that overrated city known as NYC. Its nice to know- many of you worship things from the 2nd city that were made here... too funny.

Rangers suck- blackhawks own your ass :)

  • Nice to see someone kicking that game's butt. I used to play as a kid and the people are right, the score on the arcade version starts over after 10,000,000. We used to call it "flipping the machine". I used to like getting over 9 or 10 million then walking away and leaving the game and all the extra men I had accumulated to some kid that was watching.

  • I can't believe i just found out about this game less than a year ago (I'm 30). I thought Wave 36 and 969,000 points on the actual arcade game was good, but I'm seeing some crazy scores on YouTube. lol I posted my video of me hitting 969K if you want to check it out :P

  • That is the COOLEST thing I seen in a long time Well Done!!!!

  • Played this in 82' as well. At 10 million (9,999,999) your score would got back to 0 then start again ( u would still beat the high score). So you would kill all your lifes off as near as you could to 9,999,999 (hope that the small robots would not crash into a spike as this would give you another 100 points). If I remeber right there is 256 waves then it would start back at wave 1.This was to do with the rom ie 256 I think.

  • This game is tough...

xbox 360 top score is 160,000

    LoL

  • The game doesn't wrap around at 10 million on the arcade game, I got 24 million back in 82' and after playing the game for 4 hrs. it just rebooted itself. I was so pissed. I already had the high scores on Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Jungle King and Nibbler.

  • Why the suicide?

  • I didn't know if the score would wrap around to zero at 10 million or not. Others have now proven it doesn't.

  • @thebooonus

don't you feel dumb then XD

Good score though- try playing it in a real cabinet with a real PCB board though.

  • wow. this brings back some memories...

  • Damn, at that level, you can't really do anything to survive.

  • is this the original version above or is this the 360 version. Also, does anyone know what the end of the Arcade version is like have any of you ever "turned it over" i.e; 999,999+ ????

  • This is the 360 version. There is no end to the arcade version (or the 360). After level 255, the game loops back to level 1. I think the score wraps at 10,000,000 on the arcade, not sure about the 360.

  • Nicely done, theboonus. I have Robotron on my 360 but having grown up on the arcade version I'm finding it a bit of a challenge just to reach level 40 (default). My friends and I used to have contests to see who could reach 100 the fastest! haha Ah, those were the days. lol

  • im the proud owner of the name Robotron2084 on ps3 network! hooray me!

  • have you gotten all the achievements for this game?

  • Yes.

  • I heard it was barely possible to make it to level 100, so how did you make it to 419?

  • This was on the easiest settings. Although there is at least one person (AlexTron) I know of good enough to get to this level on default settings, so it is possible. On the 360, my highest level on default was about 120.

  • I should also point out that the difficulty resets after wave 256. So wave 257 is as difficult as the very first level of the game. So if you can make it to 256, you can pretty much play for ever.

  • how long does it take to get that far?

  • In general, a good estimate is it takes 20 minutes per million points scored. I think this paricular game too me about 3 hours to do.

  • cheers for the quick reply, i thought it would be longer than that. like the geo wars 6 day high scores lol

  • Back in the 80's I could do 1 million every 15 minutes. I could play the game for days on 25 cents.

  • A true Master Xen of Robotron. I salute you.

  • Was that on default settings? Out of interest what score can you get on level 10?

  • This was played on easiest settings on XBox 360. I've never played difficulty 10 on XBox, but on difficulty 10 settings for the stand up arcade version, my best is around 4.5 million. On default settings for the arcade version, I can play forever.

  • I hope to be able to get that good. i have only managed 870,000 on default settings on mame.

  • how can u play for so long,,, ive played and played ... and so far my best for default is 485600. my respects

    -pac

  • It just takes lots of practice. I learned on the arcade machine many years before the XBox version came out.
