  • @FIGHTINGFATCOWS

Yo toy THIS IS GRAFFITI. You can draw graffiti on a wall with other stuff than just with spray cans... and

  • This is really crazy...amazing

  • I don't think this is a work in the graffiti format, it fits more in the post-modern era of pop art. The effects reached with the cans denote a great control and ability but this isn't graffiti.

People have a very rare misconception of what graffiti really is.

  • Graffiti is any image or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in some way on property rather than traditional canvas or paper. It has been around since ancient times. Only in recent years has the term graffiti been closely connected to hip hop or as a way of territorial dispute through gangs.

The subject matter, style, and materials used are irrelevant when you refer to graffiti. Graffiti is, and always will be, a personal marking on property(with or without consent).

  • Well, you have drawn upon this subject, sociological and historical statements which brings us back to where I'm standing, this is not graffiti from my point of view. Since I'm speaking of it's artistic format, not it's origins nor it's sociometric qualifications. And it's a bit funny that you mentioned the irrelevance of materials, cause that's precisely what occurred to this piece, people relates this to graffiti just because of the materials that were used on it. That's what I meant to say.

  • ooooooooooooooh FUCK THATS THE BEST SHIT , JUST OOOOOH SHIT

  • wtf!!!!

  • this is graffiti at its best

phat shit who did it sol crew, erosie ??

  • This is absolutely awesome. I love the strangeness of it. I love that graffiti art is coming to be considered something "valid". I mean, it would suck for it to become an academic, institutionalized thing but I think that due to its nature, that won't happen.

My only complaint is that you panned across the images too quickly. You need to move just a little slower so as not to make your audience dizzy!

  • Nice

  • my views are that illigal and legal graffiti are both awesome... but just remember that if u dont make it look good enough to keep, some store owner is gonna have to pay for it to be removed

  • graffiti is on a train...all other stuff aint graffiti

  • ur wrong.

  • your a fucking idiot. yes i agree, its more fun and it goes back to graffiti's roots, but all types of writing are graffiti.

  • to me, its about the art, I dont care if its legal or not,or has a special meaning(dont even care if I cant read it). legal means mostly that they took all the time they needed for it to make the art, illegal means rushing...mostly

    nederlands spul ;)

  • Whenever I see legal graffiti, I rarely know what message the artist is trying to send. Like this one: what the hell is it?

I can see that he's not a toy since he has good can control, but other than that, it's boring for me. I'd much rather see something illegal, knowing all the hazards that go with the task-- including fights.

And please, more letters, less Illustrator/Photoshop-type elements. :)

  • Well maybe so, but those are just idiots and should be forced to eat there own spraycans right?

I support the art and not the crime, I'm not against someone creating something cool on a spot he or she is not allowed to do so, but when creating (illegal) art turns into gang fights and other crap like that, I

think everyone involved should be treated as to what they have become, criminals.

    Create and don't destroy.

  • Ah well, better that then beating people up right...?

And don't forget, it's a very expensive hobby, so only the ones with paper routes and very fast running shoes can handle a hobby like this :)

  • I agree with that, it's reactions like that that really make it worthwhile.

But what I mean with reaching an entirely different audience, is that when kids pass by, during the day and something like this is being created (cause most illegal art, especialy the more elaborate works, are created during the night), could really get them interrested, see how much work and time it takes to make something like this and make them look closer to what else happening in the graffiti scene.

  • I think that shouldn't always matter. With situations like this "legal" work, artists who normally wouldn't or could never work together can combine forces and create something fresh.

I agree that most illegal stuff is much more "free" or maybe a better way to describe this is: without bounderies, but that doesn't mean that an artist can't let him/herself go on legal work.

And a bright part about legal graffiti/streetart is that an entirely different audience can be reached like this!
