That's how I've been doing it it's MUCH faster than using aircrack. I think I can get about 35,000/s keys. My only problem is that "in theory" most people in my area use ISP preset 8 digit A-Z and 0-9 random. Would take years to crack. Very annoying

@ChompChompNomNom When WPA/WPA2 keys become as easy to crack as WEP keys, there will already be a much stronger wireless security protocol in place-but that won't happen until the future gets here, you know, the future with laser beams and terminators and computers with hard drives larger than 10 megabytes.

@ChompChompNomNom getting a 5970 ati + elcomosft with mask attack will kick all u r neigbour passwords in no time, cuz it can scann 105000 keys /sec, n the good thing is u can save u r scan file n continue it any time u want.. i m doing the same n i have hacked almost all my neigbour wpa1 2 or whatever..

@naviibarra Backtrack 3 should work. I am reasonably sure that the commands are the same, however the newer backtrack releases have a much more comprehensive set of drivers for your WiFi adapter.

@joshv06 Your 5870 is testing 60k hashes/second (super fast btw) but keep in mind this is a mutating dictionary attack. Depending on your settings in Elcomsoft Wireless Security Auditor, your system is going to be testing hundreds of different permutations of each dictionary word. So although you may be moving through the dictionary at a rate of 300 words a second, your 5870 is testing many variations of each of those 300 words (bicycle, bicycle1, bicycle1950, 34BICYcle, etc.)

@mastecard0607 I have been looking into this and made a few attempts at it on my iphone (the process is basically the same, just more complicated on an iphone). Currently, aircrack-ng can be installed on a smartphone without much difficultly. However, that is only one piece of the puzzle. If you want to crack a WEP/WPA/WPA2 password, you will need to put your devices' wireless interface into monitor mode. I cannot find a way to do it, but I am sure that the top geeks are working on it.
