I wonder if the flautist's shoulders ever hurt from holding it so high? It's funny -- I played oboe throughout jr. high school (first chair captain) and now, I'm taking up the flute for a hobby (at 28). :)
Im a flute major. I imagine that it would. Her hand position as well. She completely amazes me that she is that good. My flute prof. at Michigan State would totally be all over those problems.
no it doesnt hurt you just get tired (im 13 and i play the flute im on grade 7) and thats just her type of playing she doesnt hold them like dat for the whole peice
If my flute teacher sees this he would say all grumpy: "that lady's fingers need to stay near the keys, she's lifting too high her fingers, what's wrong with that woman?"
this kind of music reminds me of when I used to spend my time playing Fable on xbox... I loved the music in that game. classical music is so underrated
I love baroque style music. Bach and Mozart are my two favorite composers. I'd love to be able to play the Minuet and Badinerie someday. They are beautiful. :)
demasiado lindo exepto que la flautista levante demacido la flauta y no se ve muy bien no se quede en un solo lugar y la levanta mas de lo normal pero estubo muy bonito.
@tdunevent With some of her exaggerated movements, she's actually acting as the conductor with her movements, starting & ending the piece at the same time, dynamics, etc. Also, as any good musician knows, you can't help "dancing" when playing :)
some of that was because she was functioning as conductor, wasn't it? I can see her cutting off some of the holds and starting the music, so I'm assuming she's directing crescendos and such as well.

If my flute teacher sees this he would say all grumpy: "that lady's fingers need to stay near the keys, she's lifting too high her fingers, what's wrong with that woman?"
and I would reply: " does this sound good?"
and he would say:"Hell Yes"
and I would reply: "then shut up and enjoy"
(true story it happened before)

We’ve just heard a great chamber music work. Bravo!
Great editing as well. If I may ad a remark, I just would show the bassoon on 4:55, as it plays the core part of the Badinerie theme.
Thank you for posting!!!

well, so can i. but there's unnecessary physical phrasing that is taking away from her looking as good as she sounds.
