As for the comment on Tavon Austin, comparing these two kids is like apples to oranges. TA is a Noel type runner, where this kid is a every down back. Will be interesting how things go in conjunction with Chris Snook...

I like the kid! No dancing, just North/South and burn you with his speed. Very disciplined runner for a HS kid and as a previous poster mentioned has very similar traits to Steve Slaton. Hopefully, Daquan will be able to bulk up a little and be a big edition to the Mountaineers back field.

WVU under Stewart runs sometimes a zone blocking scheme, but I doubt you will see it as much without the huge threat of White running the ball too as wellas handing off to Noel and now Daquan. You'll see alot of bubble screens and tosses more then likely. Daquan will be a fine addition to the WVU family. He'll make a great back that will probably get in in his freshman year and help give Noel a rest once in awhile. Once he gets accustomed to our style of offense and scheme he will be a Slayton.

Are you kidding me? Kid is a pure North-South, one cut and go type of runner just like Steve Slaton. He's pretty much the prototype for a zone blocking running attack. He's perfect for WVU.

We did do some zone blocking last year but obviously a lot less than we did with Rrod. I don't know if we will do any zone blocking next year or not but the offense is obviously drastically different now.

Hate to tell you but between WVU and MN, the Mountaineers aren't RB U...Marion BarberIII, Lawrence Maroney, Thomas Tapeh and even Gary Russell saw time in the league last year all from UofMN.

WVU produces tons of college stud RBs but we haven't had the talent for NFL guys until Slaton, Schmitt, and Devine came along... Collegewise, we're up there. We'll be moving up in the pro's with the guys we have now. This guy is nasty - hopefully he'll bring that speed up to Motown...

fair enough... but it didn't stop Big DT Jewhan Edwards or RB Kevin Whaley from picking MN over WVU. Not to mention the other 7 4Star players and Top 25 Recruiting class.

Also take a look at the talent Tim Brewster was left with and you'll understand why we were 1-11.

I like WVU and wish them well for sure, but also know what a transition to a new coach isn't perfect either.

Both are true. D-Line don't like coming here because of our weird scheme. We run a 3-3-5 (like a modified 3-4), so the NT gets double or triple teamed most plays. We were in it until the end for him, but you guys pulled it out. And I think Whaley was scared off when RichRod left. I could be wrong about him, but I think that was why he decommitted.

You guys are doing a heck of a job getting back on track - you'll be good very soon with the talent you're getting.
