  • i guess you folks never heard of road salt...

  • lol damn. U live in a very exciting place

  • If the fire truck can do it, why can't anyone else? lol

  • @Despondency420 maybe fire truck had winter tires=)

  • @Pyrzes You need Chains for this..no tires alone can help..why dont they have chains on their tire boggles my mind.

  • @SwiftractPtss I mean like studded tires, thats pretty normal weather for me, but chains are one option.

  • Posted a bus.

  • Where's the new videos of this weeks storm? I'm sure someone did something stupid with their cars/trucks/BSUV's. Maybe even a bus or two?

  • Title of this video: fail. It's not the 2" of snow. It's that it melt and refreezes and becomes a sheet of ice. No other major American city, possible exception of Portland, has those kind of conditions. In the midwest the snow starts powderier, and stays frozen for weeks, thus NOT becoming sheet ice.

  • I love the laws of physics.

  • This time of year, I should bring a bunch of winter tires with me and sell them at 1000% markup. How come nobody has them?

  • It's not the snow that is a problem. It is the ice plus steep hills.

  • No salt! No nothing!

  • Then the firetruck comes and takes it, LIKE A BOSS!

  • I don't get it, were you just listening to really loud rock music while filming this or is it very strangely edited?

  • OK somebody explain me how the hell this people expect hitting the brakes to solve their problem?!

The damn bus driver was very close to avoid the accident but when hit brake the rear start sliding... he just had to step out of the pedal just like the fireman did!

You need spinning wheel to control your car! In such condition forgot any pedals. If you can just downshift

  • Hey it's one year later! But there's no snow :( oh yeah click 1:31 over and over again lol

  • Comment removed

  • Next time drop the anchor. That's what a blonde would do.

  • wow

  • the people on that bus must have been crapping themselves.

  • thank god it doesnt ice in india! bcoz even without ice some people drive here like shit heads !

  • OMG!! 0:03 my grandma is practicing drifting again !!!!!!!!!!!! im proud of you grandma!!!!

  • OMG!! 0:03 my grandma is practicing drifting again !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im laughing at the first when the first white car turning around like marry go around o.o

  • im laughing at the first when the white car turning around like marry go around o.o

  • good driver at 0:50, except going a little fast.

  • @sneakyabcd

good driver - didnt want insurance premium doubled....also you can tell the car has abs/traction control.

  • I cannot believe the idiots attempting to drive this street. You just don't do that. On my street here in Utah we have had ambulences try to get down streets like this and end up crashing as well, resulting in life flights. IT IS BETTER TO WALK A LITTLE WAYS THAN KILL SOMEONE!

Also, we as good neighbors don't just film people getting hurt. We go to the top and tell them that you cannot make it that day...

  • what a intertaining view u got there hehe

  • If you valued the time and life, you should try the tool for your car. Our tool should be the solution.

  • Interesting how the 10 ton fire engine made with out a problem.

  • nothing like waking up at four in the morning and seeing a bus crash right outside your window...

  • @TheNerfgamerman hahahaha

  • I used to live in Seattle, WA. I remember when that happened. I'm even one of the people walking on the sidewalk, but I got back to my house as fast as I can.

  • lol man these people are freaking the hell out!!!hhahahaha the fire truck is badasss

  • ABS brakes people never heard???? or use the brakes like that....

  • @mikexxi ever driven on ice? ABS dont work, you gotta open your clutch, come off the brakes abit to keep relatively straight than when the road levels off you'll come to a stop

  • 0:30 FAIL

  • i think this video needs the benny hill theme song in the background lol

  • @Coasterrider210 That would certainly be a nice touch, wouldn't it? (LOL)

  • subie!!!

  • Look at that side bus. lol

  • you gotta ride the curb in that situation

  • I don't think it wise to drive a vehicle in difficult conditions without Makibisi or the tool to control the traction at discretion even on black ice.

  • Don't use brakes on ice! Fools! Put it in first gear, release the clutch and apply throttle if needed!

  • 4 wheel what?? i would love to take that bus downtown..

  • 4 wheel what??

  • this is so fake

  • nooow i see the breaks dont work in a toyota

  • I wouldn't drive on that icy street unless I had a Zamboni !

  • to fast to furious tokyo drift

  • looks like a normal Norwegian winter road. Ever heard about WINTER TIRES in the US?

  • @j2liveno they are illegal in US lol :Finnish guy

  • so many nice saves in this video....if you ask me only two of them were bad drivers

  • i think that guy driving the first car was pro, he was just havin some fun.

  • @manbearpig1059 Yeah, lined the corner up nicely.

  • guys, why don't u put some more water on this road and film more of the action ?

    Its quite cool ;)

  • I can only imagine someone standing on a sidewalk and seeing a bus sliding toward sideways with a big sign on it "YOU"

    That would be freaky...

  • @mykelbe really.. and what should you do, go out there and get hit?? that would be dumb

  • Holy crud, where is the salt truck when you need it?

  • Lol the bus was drifting

  • LOL! @ 1:00 he sounds like michael jackson.. Huuuhhhhhh !

  • slow-mo drifting:)

  • 0:02 Epic drift. 0:38 "...now what?" 0:54 Nice save. 0:59 Not a nice save

  • Just as an experiment, I ran a video of Yakety Sax along with this video. It meshes rather well.

Yes, I'm just a little evil.

  • Somebody needs to close down that street! BRUTAL! Hahaha! Good thing San Francisco's Lombard St. doesn't get snow and temps like that. Hot Wheels should make a toy called "If Lombard St. were in Fargo, ND" - it would be an epic crash course. Kids across America would FLOOD to get that! I would have! Not PC, but definitely a good idea. A big embillished hill you put in the freezer overnight, then play with the next day. Multiple tracks to freeze for endless fun. MATTELL...I'm available for hire.

  • 1:00 people reacts just like in GTA...

  • @ImVhOzzi LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL true

  • Four-wheel-drive doesn't mean four-wheel-stop.

    Just sayin'.

  • @dkerris

Very true... People get a false sense of security in 4 wheel drives.... Yes they go more places but they don't stop any better...

  • @dkerris whats funny is all these four wheel drivers can't wait to show off there 4 wheel drive capabilities. they waited all year for this one moment. its like they are immune to ice or slippage.

  • Well, if it's rare to get snow that stays, then i'm not so surprised of that chaos. Even in southern parts of my country snow stays, at least few months and form those conditions you had. Or even worse.

Our Capitol Helsinki is also built on steep hills, well, city-area is, and i can imagine what could happen when blizzard hits, and people have summer slicks on. It would be real fender bender.

  • It doesn't matter what the streets are made of. Here in Seattle, it doesn't stay very cold, so a lot of the snow hits the ground during the day and just melts. Come night time, it DOES freeze over and the roads become a sheet of ice.

It also doesn't help Seattle is built on steep hills. It's foolish to not put snow tires on and try to drive in it, but we rarely get snow that sticks here so people aren't prepared.

  • Well, back here in Finland, streets are made of asphalt, and YES!!! we do use spikes in our wheels during winter. So, what's up, doc? Is it really that hard to to use common sense, and put winter wheels under your vehicle???? Sorry i keep forgetting, that americans don't have such an invention in use.... yet ;)

A bit flaming, but hey, really....

  • Man, it sucks to be caught unprepared.

  • I lived in San Francisco for many years and they put concrete on the steepest streets. They also make the steepest streets one way downhill, though and San Francisco usually has no snow. Apparently it doesn't snow that often in Seattle for Seattle drivers to have so much trouble driving on snowy hills.

  • STOP using CONCRETE! use ASPHALT.

    ASPHALT = TRACTION.

No such thing as concrete roads in Europe.

  • Demonstration of momentum at 56 seconds :) Oh and that was was certainly going Downtown :P

  • The best is "Bumper Cars in Portland". Amazing video.

  • @sockmagnet, I thought this video was about Seattle, not Portland. According to the Oregonian, Portland has only rain.

  • @NobHillBorn Um...yes, this is about Seattle. I was saying that if you wanted to see a domino effect of cars sliding in the snow to check out "Bumper Cars in Portland". It's pretty awesome.

  • @sockmagnet OK, I'll take a look at it.

  • AHAHAHA!!! Great Vid

  • Seattle drivers just need to give up and stay inside, especially if they have to commute on the damn hills.
