I need to ask a BIG favour of all of you who are passionate about Christiania as it passes an incredible 40th year. I have long wanted to make a sympathetic film about the community and was lucky enough to save some money to video it on 26/9/11. I hope to be able to visit again in 2012. you can still blaze in Christiania. New political winds are sweeping across the world and Denmark too. Let´s hope it saves Christiania, but nothing is certain. You need to support this place. Go there, do something there, play some music. Things are only alive when people use them. Otherwise it´s a museum---that is what the government wants. A tamed version of the place with plenty of room for consumerism and exploitation. An open museum, but without the people living there now!

I was in christiana on new years eve 2003. We smoked a ton of hash and northern lights. Also they have some bad ass amazon shrooms. Nothing was more than 80krones/gram. I hope when i go back sometime that you can still blaze.

Thats unfortunately correct, but we wont let them. And they dont dare. It is a big part of danish culture, and a lot of danes loves the free city of Christiania. You can still smoke a joint in there without anything is going to happen to you.
