Well, just absolutely beautiful, as a 28 year old fairly recent Doobie Brothers fan, i'm amazed at the talent that I had missed for so long, what a beautiful band. You two go very nicely together, what an honor to be able to see it...if only on Youtube. Thank you for this.
Tom Johnston music always appealed to me, I love his tunes and rhythm, this is a great duet and his daughter Lara sure has a nice and powerful voice. love it.
Some fine musical genes were passed on here. The ageless voice of Tom Johnston is just a rock 'n' roll marvel. The two best concerts I saw in the '70s were Steely Dan in '74 and The Doobie Brothers in '76. Funny thing was that Jeff "Skunk" Baxter and Michael McDonald played in both shows.
What a pleasure to watch you and your father sing together. He and the rest of the Doobies are a part of our generations history and it's good to see that you'll be carrying on his legacy for years to come!
Lara, your father was my hero growing up. Such a big musical influence at the time. FInally met him in 96, and that was on my bucket list! Keep singing, and say hi to Dad.!
Wow!....Im so glad I came across this!....Mr. Johnston's music has provided me with so much joy over the years, and it is wonderful to see his daughter has the same wonderful talent!....
You and your Dad are awesome. I grew up with the music of DB and for him to maintain the quality of his voice and love for this kind of music is just simply amazing. Thanks for the memories.
this song is heard everywhere and always will be. NO ONE, could ever touch this classic!! If yer a Doobies fan and you wanna hear more of true Red White and Blue rock and roll, listen many times to thier album," What Were Once Vices are now Habits". I have had this recording in EVERY format, since I was 13, the age I started playing guitar. What an Amazing recording and well written material!!!
Thanks for posting this Lara. This is the song that inspired me to learn how to play guitar (so long long ago). You dad and Pat are still my rock-n-rool idols.
I've been a DB fan for years and this honestly...gave me the chills...It was sooo amazing..Like Angels singing from on high.
Amazing..would love to hear more of your singing Lara...you have a wonderful voice. And of course your Dad...still amazing as ever..I love the Doobies...Brother til the end..Keep a Rockin'
Lara... thank you for posting this video. It was great to see two Johnston generations perform together. Please tell your dad that the old Visalia and Central Valley fathful will always be with him. Here's wishing you and yours the very best of everything to come!
Lara, thanks for sharing this with a old Doobie Brothers fan! I saw your father in Sac back in the early 70's and what a great show! You're a chip off the old block and that's a heck of a compliment! Rock on!
Way cool! I saw The Doobie Brothers back in the early 70"s and what a show they put on! Great to see the tradition will continue on with Tom's daughter, Lara! She's as good as the old man! Great pipes! Rock ON!
Lara- I loved seeing your dad and the Doobies perform last summer in Hershey, PA. After seeing you here I know the apple dosen't fall fall from the tree. :) Good luck in your musical career and in all that you you do!
You are daddys pride and joy. I love your voice and Tom still sounds great ! It is daughters like you that make daddys stay on top of their skills. Thanks
very nice--sorry I missed you in Redmond, Washington on 8/9 . You've obviously got music in your blood. Keep on singin. ps, your Pa and friends have been ok for only 40 years too...T&T
