Since I plan to build a monolithic concrete dome to live in and since NO part of it is flat, can this film be placed onto the walls/roof of one of these homes? And how would it be installed onto it? would it be better if it was bare concrete, painted, or with a liner first?
well...if someone will provide the nano solar cells...how much investment do we need to buy the robotic machines to produce solar panels...and from where we can get these machines..?
@djmohnl given that the cells are "printed" on film, the production cost would be cheaper. Thin film also means it is flexible for installing on odd shape object. Efficiency is one factor, the new medium will open up many new application and opportunity.

This would make it possible for people to go off the grid more easily. I don't think our current government would like that since they want to have more control over us.

All alternative energy including solar power MUST be supported by a robust energy storage strategy. Battery technology is still not good enough today, the limitation is evident in hybrid and electric cars. Secondly, the yield from solar cells are still too low to power cars directly. It is good for subsidizing only, ie. plugging in is necessary.
Supplemented by a "robust storage system" or by a robust energy GENERATION system? Magnetic field-line cutting of solar input can augment transport powering IN REAL TIME (unlike batteries!). The "T" factor is impoetant in another usually unconsidered way also: INPUT IS CONSTANT, while OUTPUT IS VARIABLE! These are two reasons why your "giving up before even beginning" is a cowardly, and mis-guided policy! HOUSING IS NOT THE PROBLEM - TRANSPORTATION IS!!!
@cplai You are absolutely wrong. Look at the infrared nano antennas - "solar panels" that work 24x7 including at night when the Earth expresses the infrared energy. Nano antennas don't have the orientation problem either - they work no matter which direction they face - you could layer it on top of roofing materials or hand sheets containing the NAs vertically in your attic - they will gen clean energy. Imagine parking your car and the heat from the road trickle charging your batteries
@cplai The yield from infrared would be much greater than traditional solar cells - if you combine ultra-capacitors to recapture kinetic energy from braking (which UPS trucks do today) plus infrared trickling charging (also combined with removing more heavy ferrous metal from the body of the vehicles to reduce weight - we should use more carbon fiber) - you could easily get a vehicle w/ >50-75 mile radius - which would cover over 80% of all Americans daily driving
The government should not spend hundreds of billions bailing out banks. Stupid fools even know that. They should instead (just) spend 10 billion to help finance the mass production of these kinds of solar printers. (and maybe a 100 B for roads/bridges, powerline, etc. that's it!)
That fact that they want to instead throw money into the air is PROOF that they want to DESTROY America!
