I didn't enjoy the first 10-15% of the game but I think it does get better with the weapon/ammo/engineering choices. Not as expansive as fallout3 by any means but for an FPS, its pretty good. Once you figure out how to fix the graphics glitches, its quite fun

I'm not sure what people are talking about with it being "very" short. I wouldn't call it short. It's a bit more than short. Sort of, medium.. so to speak. I've been playing it for a few hours a night for almost 5 days now. I check all the job boards, I do all the quests, play the mini games, do the races and make sure I check every room. This game isn't as short as people make it sound. OH, and I've been playing on the highest difficulty since the beginning of the game. IMO this game owns. 8/10

I wonder how people can hail such crap..Such a shame, the game looks awesome graphically spoken but the content got screwed up totally. Great potential but sloppy realization with a lot of eyecandy to cover a hollow body.

Personally I would play this game more than once but thats because I love anything post apocalyptic, I love the graphics and world they created for this game. good game, but felt a little repetitive in places and I didn't care for the racing mini-games so much. The game ends a little abruptly for my taste, but they clearly decided to leave it for a sequel. Maybe if they had another 4 hours of story/game play and their were less of the repetition it would be up there with the best FPS'.

Whatever the case Carmack has created a awesome game engine, for the detail in the game I'm surprised how smooth it ran on my rig.

Comparisons with fallout miss the point. I played fallout 3 for months, and I love it, but it’s very in depth. The RPG element is too detailed for some gamers. The beauty of Rage is that whilst there is more than enough of an RPG element to stop it from being a one dimensional FPS, its light enough to be accessible to casual gamers. People playing rage may go on to play a full fat RPG like fallout when they might not have done without that experience.
