Great review. I have Cities XL 2011 sitting in my Steam Library, uninstalled. I can't play it because the game lags so bad. I have a Phenom II 4x 940 Quad Core 3.5Ghz and a GTX570 Graphic card and 8GB of DDR3 Ram. This game should not lag.

@InfestedChris i have the 2012 one and when i have a city with over 1M peeps the game runs at 2-4fps and my computer has a 1.8ghz quad-core and 6gb RAM and a ATI mobility Radeon HD 5850 with 1024MB memory and my pc is a ALIENWARE M16x laptop sow it should not lag for me as well.

I agree that the single-core crap really hurts this game. I also agree that the game has a multitude of glaring issues (the camera is one of these). But at the same time, there's nothing else to play until (and if they ever) come out with SimCity 5.

I loved SC4, but it had some glaring issues that made it frustrating as well (people bitch about driving a couple of blocks to their job, really???). I just wish they would make a true SC5 and leave it to the pros.

Man it's been close to 8 years and no one has made a worth successor to SC4+RH. I have 2011 and I'm tempted to buy this on steam sale, but I just don't know. The 2k11 version was a bit...what's the word I'm looking for..'off'...but I'm coming from the same perspective as the reviewer, e.g. I'm a huge Sim City 4 fan and everything has to live up to it.

How did they handle the trade system in this game? The whole omnicorp resource management thing stunk.

I guess this is what happens when you try to get too 3D in your games, and start losing gameplay options.

Gameplay > Graphics. Minecraft is living proof of that. Developers need to get back to basics - the gameplay.

You only need about 10seconds do introduce your logo and display the R13. the current 35 seconds before you actually start talking about the game is a bit excessive and frustrating. Either swear or keep it clean. Don't censor yourself. And yeah likes and favourites are important to getting views and subscribers =). As is providing new content regularly, which your doing =). Actually it was Cities XL 2010 that had the online feature, but is was discontinued after monte cristo (the real developer of cities xl) went bankrupt. 2011 would be the improved version of 2010 but the main issue (single threaded) was still there. Anyhow, still a use full review i will try it for my self after the download is done ^^

On the multi threading issue. In order to fix it Focus would have to literally rebuild the game engine from scratch, which is why they won't do it. I hate it too but that's why I don't buy Cities XL games any more.

I think the introw would be great withouth those circles. The thumbs thingy is awesome and is something that easily recognized and could work very well as a futur logo, but the rings are a bit too flashy imo
