  • it sucks, that its not at california adventure anymore /:

  • it will be weird seeing this w/o the Circus units in it when it returns in June. but we get to see Pinochio and the Dwarf mine again for the first time in 13 years.

  • That's the argument I keep raising with people in Disneyland City Hall. If The Main Street Electrical Parade had a repeat engagement in WDW, why can't there be a repeat engagement in Disneyland; the original home of the parade, and the location where the parade was originally conceptualized first? The Main Street Electrical Parade was made for Disneyland.

    The Prince has spoken!!!

  • um... California adventure. It may not be EXACTLY as it was, but it's still better than nothing

  • Well, I agree that it's better than nothing. The last thing I want to come off as is ungrateful. You know? I'm gratefgul that the parade is still functioning and performing, instead of sitting in mothballs somewhere, like the WDW floats. However, for us in California, it's like so close, yet so far. We really miss the parade in Disneyland. There are so many reasons why it works in Disneyland better than D.C.A.

  • I can feel that. It was the MAIN ST Electrical Parade after all. If they want something more up to date in the actual Magic Kingdoms, they should use Tokyo Disneyland's version. That RULES!

  • Yeah! And doesn't the name "MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE" sound snappier than "DISNEY'S ELECTRICAL PARADE"? To me, that's the corporate Disneyfication of the electrical parade. I've seen the clips of that parade here on You Tube. Their Pete's Dragon scared the heck out of me. Personally, I think there's a place for adding new floats to the parade based on other Disney movies. Remember the Hercules float? That was very beautiful.

  • If you thought the Pete's Dragon unit was scary, you should have seen the Sleeping Beauty Dragon used in the early years of MSEP (1972-1974). I have pictures of that dragon and the music to go with it. Gee, I wish I saw the parade in that era instead of 1981,

  • Oh, wow! I've heard of that unit! Pete's Dragon ultimately replaced it. Can you send me over the pictures and the music? I would love to see and hear it.

  • I've looked all over the net and I can't find any pictures, video clips or music of the old sleeping beauty dragon. Didn' people like it? I want to see it for myself.

  • yeah! I saw this for the 1st time in SO many years 2 months ago. In fact i haven't seen it since i was like 5. when they said the synthesizer announcements @ the beginning of the parade i totally forgot that it wasn't at Disneyland anymore and it said DISNEY's Electrical Parade. I think Mainstreet sounds better

  • I totally agree with you. Main Street ALWAYS sounds better. I had a similar experience when I first heard the soundtrack. It's like I knew, so I wasn't surprised, but I was still not completely expecting it. Are you an annual pass holder? We're going to go see the opening Electrical Parade of the Christmas season this Friday.

  • I am not an annual passholder, But i do go every year. It's a tradition the family's have been doing before i was even born and up to today. And thats is so cool! I hope you have/had a great time! lol

  • Oh, okay. That's cool! Yeah, we had a great time. Blue Fairy and Cinderella all blew me kisses. ^_^

And I got nods from most of the To Honor America girls.

  • Lol! Thats funny :D

  • Very nice video. I didn't know that they had The Electrical Parade going to other way in the past. I didn't get a chance to see the parade until this year. Before that, the last time I laid eyes on these floats was Nov. 25th, 1996 in Disneyland. Can anyone guess the significance of that date? lol.

    The Prince has spoken!!!

  • That was the date of the "final performance." I was there too. I have that on tape as well!

  • You were?! Stellar! Do you think I might be able to get a copy of that? I would love to see it. I bought the live broadcast of the final performance on DVD, but whoever did the sound mixing did a horrible job. All you hear is Baroque Hoedown throughout the whole show. It's very hard to hear the designated music of the individual parade segments. I was very dissappointed with that because I was really looking forward to hearing Pinocchio's music with his unit.

    The PRince has spoken!!!

  • I could give you a copy but I warn you there's a lot of screaming and yelling on the soundtrack because the crowd went wild each time a float went past.

  • That's okay! I actually love to hear that. It warms my heart to hear people get excited about that parade and some of the other attractions that are now part of Yesterland because it shows how much they love them. So how can you send it to me? Over the web, like on Windows Messenger, or do you need to mail it?

    The Prince has spoken!!!

  • I'm going to have to mail it because the file would be too big for my e mail server to handle.

  • Okay. So do you want me to send you my address? By the way, you could possibly use Windows Messenger to send it. Windows Messenger has no size restrictions.

  • How many little kids are going to know who that dragon is? XD btw, have you seen mine from Walt Disney World?

  • I have now. I never got to see the Electrical Parade during its original run at WDW. I did, however, get a chance to see it there during its return performance in 2000.

  • I saw your video response. Did you see pt 2 of my video?
