  • Lol blown

  • it just needs a tune bra

  • That's what happens when u beet on a new car with out getting a dyno tune. That car deserve a real car guy subie or Honda u don't drive stock cars like there race cars

  • @sirzycki81 An STI is not a Honda. They can be driven like a race car as that's what they are designed for. Group N rally cars are near stock. They can replace ECU, and do limited changes to suspension and a few mounts (engine mounts, suspension bushings, etc.) Often such changes aren't made, and the 2011+ STI comes with steel pillow-ball bushings instead of your standard "Stock Car"/Honda-spec urethane plastic bushings.

You, sir, are obviously not a "real" car guy.

  • weak ass motor...these things blow up all the time.

  • my STI blowns six times...

  • and it still runs!

  • OMFG TURN THE MOTOR OFF!!!

  • I see a full rebuild, some gnarly cams, forged pistons, rods, a gt35r turbo, and whatever the fuck else you can think of. :)

  • i cried.

  • NOOOOOOOO

  • sounds like two skeletons shagging in a dustbin

  • Sounds like a bunch of nails in a tumble drier. For 2008 you have a dirty engine bay.

  • Letting that car idle isnt going to really do anything, that shortblocks pooched anyway unless there able to bore it over but with only 20k on it, subaru is going to replace it anyway. Dont blame the owner in this case though. I personally spun a bearing in my lgt that was very well maintained, when these cars work, they work but when things go wrong..... yikes.

  • OK. Another IDIOT Subaru owner! This is not Subaru's fault if you drove before only shitty german piece of shit, and have no idea how to handle a real car.

  • @justdvdus Actually subaru recalled all the engines from the 08 WRX/STi because there was too much separation between the rod and rod bearing. It's not actually the owners fault. So I wouldn't go and jump all over the owner unless you know the facts about the motors from those cars around that time.

  • Leaving it on will cause more damage to the engine as the broken parts may rupture

Feed lines and other delicate components.

  • jeeze, not good

  • Subaru is a little tough car engine a little aphids Hyundai

  • That'll buff out.

  • If it's screwed I'll buy those wheels off of ya

  • @vaporazor leave him alone he has brain size of squirrel!

  • Who gives a fuck, its justa a ricer.

  • @vaporazor you obviously dont know cars, you must be, what 15, think highly of v8s and big displacement to compensate for your tiny penis, fucking idiot, you have every right to feel offended

  • @vaporazor you probly own some fuckin hyundai lantra with a pod filter shit loads of stickers a massive fuck ugly body kit and 20" chromes rims.

  • @vaporazor subarus dont classify as ricers same way supras dont either

  • @vaporazor I don't see an H on the front of that hood. And jerryhowel9 is right, they don't classify as ricers. Other than this kid, its usually mature folks that own these. This is coming from a SBC fan and especially to the LSX family. And I happen to own an older 2.5rs myself. BTW, I did trade my Z71 in for a Frontier and needless to say I think my wrench turning days are almost numbered, except for oil changes.

  • sounds like a dryer with like 20 bucks worth of dimes spinnin around

  • must be an import

  • Retard!

  • Do some more donuts it'll make it go away.

  • ummmm. turn it off dude

  • damn well i guess since ur keeping it running try putting some nuts and bolts with a bit of sand in there since u apparently dont care about ur engine and just keep it running

  • just leave it on its fine lol

  • rev it rev it

  • Try to use 2010 crank with you new set up cause it is the main problem and they solve it by nitrides the crank surface

  • still sounds good in the back :)

  • The 2 engines I've rebuilt have more then 15k+ miles on them so far, and the owners take better care of there rides. You can machine a scored crank, depends on how deep the score, you use thicker bearings.

  • bud come to san angelo sometime bring it to my shop il b happy to look at it 4 u

  • Its just a spun bearing or 2, running it will just score the crank, about $200 in parts just disassembling sucks. I have rebuilt 2 ej25s, its always rod bearing 3 or 4 that fails

  • @Lv1nightmare JUST score the crank? Wouldn;t want YOUR engine rebuild. Unfortunately this is all too common in htese Subaru engines. I've seen these alot.

  • still dont get y hes running it it could cause further damage well i guess thats what you get when you buy subaru kids be smart buy evos

  • new subaru engines are made in China

  • is a engine of a subaru zow wieck. ps tracto91 vw sucks big time

  • Break a piston... common in those years... i know a guy who broke three then got some cosworth forged pistons never had that problem again...

  • next time get a evo, wont have that problem with the bulletproof 4g63

  • this sound makes the back of my throat hurt..

  • sounds like a broken rocker and the valve is hitting the piston , dont see any vapor out the tailpipe so i dont think the block is cracked , just a guess ? but if its still running it cant be that damaged BUT running it willl only make it worse and more exspensive to fix

  • that engine looks older than 2008 :O

  • i love how you just found out it was blown and you leave it on and the grinding gets worse and worse...you can hear things turning into fragments

  • Another dead Subaru....

  • ill bet daddy bought him this car

  • with only 20,000kms on it yor probly drove the hell outta it before it was broken in. gota drive proper for a good 10-15000 kms before you wana really romp on it

  • yuk that sounds gross !!!!

  • get duct tape and crazy glue

  • buy volvo they look better

  • Sounds about right for this model car.

  • I've attached a vid of my second blown 08 STi engine. First one happened at 1987 miles, second one at 9900. No warranty. This is my 4th new WRX/STi and I'm sure it'll be my last. Screwbaru sucks!

  • @TalkzillaBob do u dogs the car cus it seems weird that ur engine blows so fast. i have a toyota camry with 260k still runs great try toyota

  • @savirjack you have to break cars in dude. which clearly this person didnt do.

  • Is it broken ring lands?

  • sounds like a keeper

  • seriously..how the hell did u blow ur 08?!..

  • when the 08 sti's came out they had a recall because again the stock ecu would blow the motor after a couple thousand miles of driving it. thats why i didnt want one.

  • how the fuck do u manage to have a blown engine on an 08 STI? an 08...really ..WTF were u thinkin man.. ive had my SRT for 5 years nd never had that problem... ..i think ill stick to my DSM rather than JDM

  • What were you doing when it blew?

  • ohhhh sounds realy bad!

    too bad

  • make sure you drive it hard red line every gear and it will go away

  • Sooo.what happen?

  • @wrb2002bugeye uhhh what's that ? a mistake in spelling mitsubishi ? wow that means I am an idiot from your point of view ? How wrong you are ! Of course I meant to say Mitsubishi engines, because Subaru and Mitsubishi are made by the Japs , right ? So this means that they have no ideea how to build an engine. Mitsubishi figured this out faster than Subaru .

  • Oh man. It's stock too. It's better getting your engine break down than modded ones. You'll still have your warranty and they can have it fixed for you. If I'm ever going to get one might as well take good care of it till the loan is paid of then modify it.

  • Its just the turbo - calm down. Get a new one under warranty and continue the thrashing

  • you f*cked up a subaru motor that quickly?

  • God you are so highly unintelligent to leave the engine runnning when it's that damaged. You don't deserve to have a car like that.

  • @mtcr85 ummm yeah, because it's not like they are going to have to replace the whole long block anyway... (insert sarcastic smirk here)

  • @mtcr85 Good point but I doubt he cares. Sounds like that mean its gonna need a whole new engine anyway. Let the dealer worry about it.

  • @mtcr85 And this makes you so much more intelligent how? Chances are he'll get a new one or scrap the car. Quit being a dick.

  • @mtcr85 I agree with you what an idiot!! lol

  • @mtcr85

Why does it matter? Chances are he'll swap a different built block in any way.

  • @mtcr85 It's fucked now, won't make any difference..

  • @mtcr85 what would be different if he had it off?

  • @EPzti I dunno, maybe leaving it on would BREAK MORE SHIT?!

  • @skatezero1260 you use the term break more shit and he is highly unintelligent? i call hypocrite on that

  • @mtcr85 yeah this car deserves salvage yard

  • @mtcr85 What does it matter, it's covered under warranty.

  • @mtcr85 it couldnt get any worse why not

  • You must of ragged the nuts of it ,sweet motor though

  • Sounds like a vacuum cleaner tring to pick up small screws.

    lol

  • Thanks for the video, sorry about your car. I love the STI but now I am starting to wonder, I have seen a few blown engines on U Tube.

  • These motors are VERY durable. They can take alot of abuse. However, many guys (including myself) modify the heck outta them. If done properly and within the limits or the motor/tranny the car will do fine. If done half a** and not tuned, expect problems. Don't get me wrong, any motor can fail, and STI motors are high pressure motors, so they undergo more stress than a regular vehicle. But for the joy of the car I'll take the risk! Sorry to hear bout the STI OP.

  • Thanks Steve. I love your STI. I hope to buy one in the next two years. Thanks for the positive feedback about Subaru. I have been a Nissan guy for a long time but I want to switch to the STI which is Subaru.

  • @lenovoR62 go and look for blown beemer vw, and of course Evo's and V'tecs you'll find many more

  • You can grow a garden on that intercooler... dirty dirty dirty...

  • hahaha

  • lol i think you valve its broken :D

  • I am just throwing this out there but the engine and the exhaust note sound fine... I've seen a legacy spec B which made about the same noise and it was the turbine wheel breaking off and the noise is from it clinking around in the turbine housing. I am not saying that this is what is wrong with it, I am just saying it sounds like the one I saw

  • subarus and mitsubishis are the cars most likely to blow an engine

  • thats why mitshubishi is buying vw engines. because they dont know how to make an engine .

  • vw engines? I knew they were were working with chrysler and hyundai to make their new lancer motors and galant 4cyl, but vw?

  • the diesel engines on every mitshubishi model are from vw. the petrol engine I have no ideea

  • oh gotcha, yeah I live in the US so all we get here are petrol motors, and they are made by a joint venture between chrysler, and hyundai

  • aha. We both learned something new from eachother :) . I would recommend a diesel engine from Subaru it's a very reliable engine . As you may know it's the world's first boxer diesel engine. IN gneerel the diesel is more reliable than a petrol engine and it has a very low fuel consumption.

  • yep Ive heard of it, the diesel legacy is a very good car, I wish they sold them here in the US

  • @tracto91 Um...WHAT? You mean the VW tractor motors The dinosaurs? The 4b11 may be a joint venture, but buying VW engines? And this is a Subaru....I just have no idea where you're going with that.

  • @slymjim2007 wow finally someone that knows what they are talking about. thumbs up

  • @tracto91

Your an idiot. Just because they both are Japanese manufacturers makes them bad? Are you fucking retarded? lolol

  • @tracto91 EPIC BULLSHIT ............

  • @tracto91 this is a subaru not a mitshubishi

  • @tracto91 true that dude!

  • @tracto91 algud didnt know quality japanese manufacturers were buying unreliable german crap... you sound so stupid when you make generalisations like that.

  • @tracto91 are you fucking kidding me ?!

  • @tracto91 Are you autistic? It's a Subaru.

  • this is a subaru idiot not a mitsubishi

  • @tracto91 uuuum... what? whats this vid got to do with Mitsu?

  • @tracto91 What does that hav e to do with this? You might want to do some more research I think.

  • @tracto91 thats sad when someone buys engines from vw

  • @tracto91 you mst be kidding, right? Firt of all this is a Subaru, not a Mitsubishi and second, Mitsubishi has made just about the most fantastic engines out there.. google the 4g63 engine...

  • I just googled it. Warped blocks, spun rods, crankwalk, yeah, real reliable as any engine out there if it's abused to hell.

  • @tracto91 lool Umm.. thats not even a mitsubishi.. good guess tho

  • @tracto91 mitsubishi uses their own engines, maeby vw are using 4g63 jajajajaja

  • Fail.

  • Srt is a dbag. Subaru has a known issue on the 2.5s. They changed a bearing material to remove some lead. 10ounces or so. The issue was corrected and Subaru has covered all expenses with said failures

  • That's really sad. I love my '07 Legacy and hope that never happens.

What was found to be the problem? Did Subaru cover it?

  • well no shit!? look at how dirty your engine bay is. that car is only a year old and it looks like its 10. i bet you beat the shit out of it and wonder why your engine blew up.

  • sounds like there is some metal coins in oil pan

  • sucks it happened to you too... my #4 ringlands took a dump @ 15k miles... stg1 flashed at 5k but if anything, the damage was probably already there due to the lean factory tune mixed in with the crappy so cal piss gas...

  • my STI sounded like that when my A/C compressor clutch disintegrated.

  • My 08 blew an engine too. My 02 WRX and 05 STi were great. Seem the engines that were in the recall mostly died and the one that got rebuilt instead of completely replaced have had multiple issues. Subaru took care of mine and it's been fine since.

  • wow that sucks.

  • hmmm, no smoke.... sounds like head noise.... Blame it on the car? I think not.

  • I have an 08 also and have blown the engine twice so good luck with that...and i only have 14000 miles on it...subaru is a pos!

  • my legacy spec b is having engine trouble, although it may be electrical, the car stalled while i was driving, i took it in and the dealer calle me and told me the car drives as designed, so maybe subaru is just trying to design ugly peices of shit just like american cars

  • oooouuuuuuuchhh!! Good thing its covered!!
