The easiest way to win this race is by one of three things, either 1. Attack the beetle at the beginning of the race to start off in 1st place, 2. Attack the beetle at the end (this only works if its literally neck and neck) or 3. Do both 1 and 2 (which I do, works 99% of the time.

Well I'm glad I just watched this video, just won the race against that bastard.... I didnt' realize you could hit him!

It was really funny because at the end I was way ahead of him, and he caught up, and so I rolled and stopped him, he caught up again, and I rolled again, but accidentally kept hitting the button and began flipping him with my hair, inching a bit, flipping him with the hair again, and inched another bit till I beat him to the line lol, nearly crapped myself.

In this race, I don't even try to get ahead of the beetle in the beginning. During the first portion, I let him stay in the lead, but within eyesight, while Tiny collects as many coins as possible. I don't sprint Tiny ahead until going into a tunnel midway through the course...then I keep her going at maximum speed as much as possible. Never thought about punching the beetle though! That could have saved a race the other day, when she was leading until the final sprint.
